Nice work man. The whole trip was spot on. The foam inserts were absolutely key and the blocks on the stringer were crucial! 🍻

Great job with a excellent video. If alright a question. Have u ever repaired a snapped epoxy mal (tolhurst) without a ply stringer. Have one now and just joined it and still very flexible. Dont like the timber dowels thinking of routering 2 small channels either side and fin rovings.???
@coulsonssurf

Yes I have. Keep in mind fin rovings are super strong. I believe this create a stiff breaking point. Even though the board has snapped you still want it to flex slightly. I’ve found that extra glass on the rail always seems to work and I’ve never had one come back. 👍🏻

Muito bom! Amazing solution for that gap... I have been filing it with small shaped pieces to fit small sections of that gap. Too much time, and not at all a professional technic . Using it knowing wasn't right! Your sistem is easier and quicker, cleaner, lighter and very professional. Thank you! Congratulations, beautiful job . P.S.- Those two wooden reinforcements, I've used them already but not my choice this days... Allow me this question, please! Did you ever saw a surfboard breaking again at that place of the repair? Obrigado.

Good job… I would have made the leading and trailing edge of the navy blue wavy so it would look more decorative and less like a blue bandaid

Is it ok to use sanding resin for the initial layers of glass you layed down over the qcell block? Would lam resin be stronger?

@@coulsonssurf yes stuf like that, was thinking also something like a color panel (hotcoatresin) or paint between 2 layers of fibre wich is alot more work cause you need to hotcoat and sand before painting.

big mistake to put those 2 peces next to the stringer been doing this for over 29 years and you have just pur a stiff 6 to 8 inches in a flexible product it is going to break at either of those ends, and make diamond shaped patches that will spread the flex over a big area.

Board rides better than ever. Troy has ridden it in many swells. Loves it.
