really thorough and professional job, kudos to you, sir. I am a painter - you did an amazing job, and i back you up on your decision to 'hand-cut' your paint-job. taping takes too long to set up and it rarely works 100%. I love the quick-dry 'spackle' (nail-hole-filler) too, but remember if your paint has a 'sheen' or shiny-finish -to prime each nail-filled spot after sanding or they will show through the final finish. thanks for your attention to detail - i really learned a lot
@MikeFarrington
5 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much. Thats been my experience, about every 10 feet the paint seeps under the tape. I have tried all the different tapes, some are better than others. The only thing I haven't tried is to tape put caulking down, then paint, then quickly pull the tape off.

Absolutely stunning craftsmanship and execution on detail. I feel the same way watching your videos as when watching a professional musician...I would love to achieve that level of mastery, but realize at the same time how many countless hours of dedication it would take. I guess you just gotta enjoy improving over time, no matter what you're doing. Incredible work, and thank you for documenting it for free.

Thank you very much. I really think thats part of the fun of music or woodworking, the constant improvement. The learning never stops, which keeps the craft interesting.

New to you channel And I've been slowly going through your projects, you are a very skilled craftsman and a teacher as well. The one comment you made about feeling the need to do your own work instead of subbing some out, is a problem that I have suffered from since the day I completed my first project. To me, it's more of a setting up, putting my entire focus on the project, escaping time, and losing the world around me. That's why I love what I do and I can see the same thing in you. Thank you for inspiration my friend. 👍

WOW! I had a house with the same type of 3 recessed window setup so this brought back a lot of good memories. Best part of this entire video, with the exception of your excellent work, was the shop helper! It's fantastic that you have included your son in these type of projects; he will remember this time he spent with you forever! Such a positive role model! 👏👏

Nice job! You do excellent work. I've been doing finish carpentry for over 35 yrs. Love it! Haven't done any wainscoting in a while. Doesn't seem to be popular anymore where I'm at, unfortunately. I miss doing it.

Great work. Excellent commentary. I've hung a lot of crown too and your method for measuring with a known length of wood is brilliant.
