@@joshuafult84 then it wouldn't be Dinosaur Jr....😁 I think like The Smiths, the delivery and mood of the vocal lifts up the already incredible music.... Like another of my favorite bands The Psychedelic Furs.. Richard Butler is incredible and sounding great in other projects such as Love Spit Love, but the combination of the pop sensibilities of his bandmates with The Furs along with his incredible one of a kind vocal delivery made for more magical tunes, in my view. I do realize their are people that prefer Love Spit Love or Johnny Marrs without Morrissey... I think a "better" vocalist could potentially take away that special element of Dino Jr.... I was more a Pearl Jam Sound Garden and Alice and Chains guy myself. I felt musically they were tighter and better musicians although I certainly appreciated the more harsh punk sound of Nirvana. I liked where there music was going with In Utero. The thing I liked about the grunge movement is that it killed the endless sea of crappy hair bands we had to endure. What sucked though is that the 4 band I mentioned were so popular that record producers went to the northwest in droves and signed every grunge sounding band and flooded the market.
