A pretty antiquated bit of trivia. Dinosaurs from late the Triassic were fairly unremarkable animals for their times, with most of their morphological features being present in other archosaurs, including crocodile relatives like Effigia, Shuvosaurus and even rauisuchians such as Postosuchus (who was a biped and basically resembled a mini T.rex coated in crocodilian scutes). The only reason dinosaurs became rulers of our planet for 160 million years is because they were dealt a lucky card during the Triassic-Jurassic extinction, much in the same way as mammals during the K/T extinction.
@Fulcrum-27
3 ай бұрын
sorry to bust that, but even before the T-J event Dinosaurs replaced other Archosauria in nearly all terrestial niches, thats why they eventually went extinct. Dinosaurs on the other hand had reached their peak in diversity just during the K-Pg event. Along with mammals they belong as Birds to the very few clades that survived the event. You're data seems to be kinda outdated.
@bkjeong4302

@@Fulcrum-27 This is completely false. Multiple terrestrial lineages of pseudosuchians continued to do well up until the mass exticntion itself WITHOUT being outcompeted, especially once trackways are taken into account. You’re the one perpetuating outdated nonsense here.

To date, the BBC's Walking With Dinosaurs (which I owned in entirety on 3 VHS tapes) is probably still the most visually appealing / realistic-looking dinosaurs; on top of that, great audio and a pleasant narrator to listen to. The story begins in 220 million years BC, in the mid Triassic. The world is still recovering from a massive extinction event that wiped out 95 per cent of life millions of years before. Ancient reptiles ruled a land dominated by desert, and one group of reptiles in particular is about to take over the world.

History does not follow a gradual path, so it's not possible to explain milions of years of history when you do not know about the cycle of natural disasters that is affecting the earth and its inhabitants in a severe way. One of the effects of these disasters is that a large part of the earth is covered with a mud layer and the northern part is covered with ice. That cycle is mentioned in several ancient books as the Mahabharata from India and the Popol Vuh from the Maya. Such a cycle can only be caused by a heavenly body that is approaching the sun and its planets with long time intervals. We now know this planet as planet 9. Countless names are used worldwide to name this planet and the disasters that are battering the planet Earth. Noah's Flood is one of them. Quetzalcoatl, Shiva or Nibiru are others. As an effect of these recurring disasters, civilizations come and go in a fixed schedule. To learn much more about the cycle of recurring floods, the recreation of civilizations and its timeline and ancient high technology, read the eBook: "Planet 9 = Nibiru". You can read it nicely on any computer, tablet or smartphone. Search: invisible nibiru 9
