Such an impact on a young, scared, girl, just left 10 years of abuse, walking streets alone, came to an open door of a small club, listened to this little guy, talking kindly to the crowd, then heard this AMAZING, HUGE, voice come out, you gave me a bit of strength that day, it came when I least expected it and needed it the most, had Goosebumps when my 24 yr old son picked me up yesterday and this song was on his playlist, listened loud, then told him the story, THANK YOU my friend, you were outstanding in every way.

@@aynakotalaga I think you're right. Vivian was awesome but Goldy was hell on wheels, too. Edit: Yes, this is definitely Craig Goldy. Still killer, agreed! Anyway... besides the fact of the BC Rich Warlock guitar, I knew something was different about how the song was being played. It's right after Dio's "We are coming.... home!" Vivian definitely emphasized different parts of that rhythm guitar part than Goldy does here. It's subtle, and only lasts until the verse kicks in, but: Vivian trades off with the keyboards, whereas Goldy plays along with the keyboard part. I always enjoyed hearing that bit and was surprised when I didn't hear it in this video. Dio Last in Line (live) in 1984, with Vivian Campbell on lead guitar: kzitem.info/news/bejne/mqdruWVmnXV5lHo

matt kolenda I did. Back when MTV had their basement hits series. Our band "Touch" from RI, won the contest for most original band. Ronnie got a hold of this and invited the band to his upcoming show in Providence. He sent several tickets to the band. I was dating the bassists brother at the time, so naturally, he invited me. I had no idea I'd end up back stage meeting this man. After Ronnie concluded his business with our little band, he approached me and said, "so I've been told you're from Greece"? "When we're you brought over to the States"? And this conversation lasted for a half an hour. Ronnie was highly into Greek mythology.

Ronnie's voice is even more amazing live! Rest in peace Ronnie. We are going to be blasting your stuff past 10. It is written: The last will come first and the first will come last. We love you Ronnie forever! We will know for the first time if we're evil or divine, we're the last in line!

Walking to school, small town, the seventh grade. Headphones on max, attempting to drown out the chaos, yelling and screaming reverberating still in my ears, from home. Dio and Rainbow in the dark saved my life. Nobody liked me in that school. It would have been nice even if just the teachers showed kindness. I remember feeling very ridiculed, feeling less than... but it didn't matter because I had metal. Metal said hey man you're cool. your alright and we're gonna have fun... to me anyway ...

@before120 I here you loud and clear! At one point I was in the hospital hoping my leg didn't get amputated as a direct result of the atrocities perpetrated upon me as a child! I left home at an early age and slept in my car that I was too young to own. 5 years later Headlining Madison Square Garden with my favorite singer performing songs that we wrote and recorded together!! Dreams Come True ! Things are not always as they seem! I hope things are better for you!! If not let me know, I've just been approved by the IRS for my 501c3 non-profit organization to be approved and maybe I can help you! Keeping Ronnie's ways with his fans alive!! God Bless You!! Let me know when you feel like it!!

Back when I was in HS, It may have even been this tour, we were going to a Dio concert. They had the line to get in set up so it wrapped around the building. Well, we got in line & me & my friends started chanting "we are the last in line" This got everyone at the end singing Last In Line. We eventually went around the corner & when we got close to the entrance & could see the end of the line again & everyone at the end of the line was still singing Last In Line. We laughed about that all night long. lol And I am still telling that story 30+ years later. lol The 80's were great.

I remember my young brother in law needed someone to take him and a friend to a concert and they would pay for their ticket. They wanted me to take them. I asked who they were going to see, they said Yngwie Malmsteen ! I was like what ever and then they said some other band is the main act. I said who's that and they said some band named DIO ! I was like I'm driving boys. They did nothing but talk about Malmsteen all the way there and while he played. Then Dio came on and I watched as their eyes were transfixed on this badass heavy metal singer and hard kickass band ! Needless to say they joined the DIO legion ! While leaving they bought DIO shirts but not one , Who the Fuck is Yngwie Malmsteen shirt, lmao !!! Dio greatest heavy metal singer ever and his band members were always the cream of the crop !!!

RJ Dio opened his world tour with his new band "Dio" in Antioch, CA at the Concert Barn. After the show he took the time to write this on an Ernie Ball guitar string wrapper: "To me (first and last name), keep on singing. RJ Dio. I was a lead singer for a local band at the time. It's my most prized possession to this day. I met and talked with him before the show too. Just a down to earth, kind, gentle man. My idol. Keep on singing in heaven my brother. Rock on...

Met this man and his wife when I worked at the Holiday Inn next to Mile High stadium and McNichols arena in Denver. They were having breakfast after the show the night before (I worked that shift too, but never got to the concert). They had their very cute little kids and asked about places to take them not too far from the airport. Denver Zoo was close (Stapleton airport, not that mess that exists now). They were happy and left me a $100 tip. I was a bartender and only worked the Sunday brunch shift on occasion. Sweet, sweet people. RIP.
