The critics didn‘t like the album cause it‘s quite similar to the first one. But i always liked it because it was (and is) right that! A big step for the band was Love over Gold IMHO one of the best produced rock albums ever.

this is some of the most intentionally crafted music I have ever heard.. the focal point is the single intentional stutter at 3:25. the piano reminds me of Joanna Newsom's album Have One On Me which is in turn influenced by The Band. Otherwise there is nothing to compare this to, before or after.
