the tethered are the innerselves of the persons. the underground place represents who these persons are in innerselves. the innerselves fights against the one above the surface and this is the one how this person acts in real and what other people really see. if the person acts like the innerselve not censored than the tethered one down below in that underground will be replaced with the other one. some people have issues with innerselves and also the imagination is not perfect because nobody has a clear picture of it. it's always mixed and not clear. this is why the tethered ones act weird.

Sacrifice for sins - i personally think the overarching idea in this film was related to the Jungian concept of the shadow/shadow self and the dangers of suppressed trauma, what struck me most was how unnatural the movements of our daily actions were in the subterranean level, and yet how pure the dance was, i mused upon what action/non-action would 'suit' both spaces and beyond the dance i could only think meditation, and maybe prayer (as it too is a meditation of sorts but i don't advise subscription to any religion) as above, so below - stillness and peace for both realms of the self.

Peter Piper in my opinion, the clone addy somehow took over the control between them and started trying to escape, so the real addy paralleled that by inadvertently going to the entrance of the tunnels. by the time the clone had cuffed her and gone back up, the real addy was now the one being controlled, she had to mimic the clone instead of the other way around. i think it’s a commentary about how people with privilege often think we’re fundamentally better in some way compared to people in a lower social class. but really, there’s no difference, it’s just that we happened to be born topside. if things were switched, it wouldn’t make a difference (like the clone ‘evil’ addy loved her family and was mostly regular, even though she was supposed to be the fake, and the real addy turned out all fucked up and bitter)
