Picked up the plugin which I do very much enjoy, excellent work demonstrating it Dom! I didn't realise it only comes with a single licence (it does come with a second one which runs out after a year, unless you sign up for their subscription service) which you have to transfer back and forth between machines if you're using more than one. You can only deactivate the licence using the machine it's currently active on. (There is an option to 'recover' a licence which facilitates this, but you can only use it once a year). You can store them on a USB but given how easy it is to lose/forget to bring them, that seems to be tempting fate! Good plugin but with Waves' approach to licencing I doubt I'll be picking up any of their other plugins. Granted, it's a non-issue for folks who are using a single machine to produce on. I like to have the same setup on my desktop and laptop, but having to remember to deactivate the licences on my machine before going to work on another machine is a deal-breaker for me. Sorry that was more a comment on Waves than your video! On a tangental note, would love to see your views on Baby Audio's Super VHS. Picked that up recently and it's probably become my favourite effects plugin. Not massively customisable in terms of the controls it offers, but it's so quick and easy to get an amazing sound out of it!

Hi Mick, it’s an amazing plug-in I agree! I know about the license struggle, to be honest, since I’ve been using Cubase for decades now, I am very used to keeping my dongle safe. So I choose the USB route for waves. I think they had an offer for a second license but I might have seen wrong. I already have a video on the Super VHS! I think you can check it here : kzitem.info/news/bejne/zp2O0Yt4qH6pl4I

@@DomSigalas Oh cool! I thought you had covered it previously but had a quick look and could only find you covering Comeback Kid (also another great plugin, big fan of Baby here) so thought I'd got them mixed up. It's always good when you find the video you'd love to see has already been created! Maybe I just need to be a bit more cautious with my USB care! So used to having multiple backups that I've never been overly careful with individual USBs! The struggles of modern life eh? Keep up the great work Dom!

It's pretty funny what you "young folks" think how bad audio sounded in the 70ties or 80ties. *Every* preset of that plugin sounds much worse than every thing I heared from professional recordings of that time. It is a nice effect to play around with and be creative in sound design, but this has nothing to do with "vintage sounds".

Aaah, I personally didn’t mean that the “recordings” sounded like that in the 70’s and 80s. I am a huge lover of 50s 60s 70s and 80s music- the recordings are stellar, but the reproduction systems were not good enough for the average consumer. I still have some old record players and cheap cassette players and they do sound like this, very low quality - I think this is what this plugin emulates ;)

@@DomSigalas But then the switches should be labeled "Price" with settings "extra cheap", "cheap", ... because a China imported fantasy-branded Bluetooth speaker doesn't sound any better today then its wired eqivalent in the 80ties.
