For those of you who are having difficulties removing the drum, the culprit is likely bi-metal corrosion between the drive spline and drum support. The driveshaft is ferrous metal and the drum support is non-ferrous, like aluminum or magnesium. That bi-metal corrosion can be very difficult to deal with. You might try pouring soda on it, like Pepsi or Coke on the nut if it won't come off, or if the nut comes off and the drum won't try pouring some on the driveshaft and splines under the nut. If that doesn't work, try some WD-40 or similar. Let the soda or WD sit for some time before trying to remove the nut or tub. Mine was only lightly corroded which is why it came off fairly easily. Some laundry detergents can be caustic to some metals. That doesn't help either. Hope this helps.
