I am not sure if you mentioned how to deal with red loctite. It releases after exposure to enough heat for enough time. The issue is how one applies the heat. I have used hair dryers, lighters and soldiering irons, but lately I tried some hot, near boiling water. You have to know if the parts can handle the heat, but the hot water really seemed o work very well, as it reached all the small areas. I dried the disassembled parts well and applied WD40 (remember, WD = Water Displacement) liberally, and then cleaned it up again. I use red loctite on some gun parts, such as front sites and it turns white when you properly heat it it to where it releases. Spyderco is not the only one using the stronger thread lockers, such as red loctite. I use the medium blue loctite on my knives. It does not take much. It sets when it is no longer exposed to oxygen, so a little bit on threads is enough. Another thing I recommend is using a new unused nail polish jar with a brush to apply the liquid without making a mess. You can get them online through Amazon. Also, when you store loctite, do not fill the container, as it needs air to keep from setting. Also, they have loctite in a stick, which is easier to apply without spilling it. Anyway, thanks for treading where others fear to go. Spyderco spy networks are probably reporting back to the warranty deniers on the mothership.

Scott G Your right I did forget to mention how I unbounded the loctite. For this I use a hair dryer. Hot water seems like a good way also but never tried it myself, may have to give that a good next time.

Great vid, Neil! Would you suggest using BLUE locktite when reassembling Para model knives? Looked like you didn't use any in this case. Thanks.

Great video man. It's a shame that they used red loctite. Did they use red loctite in the pivot too?

Neil The Knife Guy is there red locktite on the clip screws. I just got my P3 yesterday and I'm definitely swapping out the clip for a deep carry if it doesn't have the locktite.

Soldering iron full heat on screw for 20 seconds. Locktite will release easily. Don't make a big deal out of locktite. Non issue with soldering iron.

No it’s still an issue, just not for you, don’t be dumb just because it’s not a big deal for you doesn’t mean it’s not a deal for everyone else.

thank you my friend! i have a xiaomi wiha torx set, but the thing is as wide and as grippy as a BIC pen, would you recommend getting a www.bunnings.com.au/kincrome-8-piece-mini-tamperproof-torx-hex-key-wrench-set_p6120435 and from many recommendations about the red loctite - buying a heat gun and temperature gun.??
