Vertical disc openers actually move quite a bit of soil. You should try the DSX drill

Hi Antony, are you applying any biological stimulants etc with the seed? Bare or treated seed?

All bare seed, did an organic trial and was amazed how much quicker bare seed was. Planning to trial compost extract seed treatment this spring

With the Moore the Driver is definetly driving way too fast. Drive more slow and less soil is moved! I own a new model of the Moore Unidrill and I never drive faster than 6km/h.

@@AntonysRegen I prefer driving slowly, because I think already there is more than enough time to finish the job. In comparison to plow-till no-till already is time efficient. Its not necesary to have a racing going on the fields.

There is simply too little soil aggregation, and too few roots for that method. Basically you had a bow wave. Solution: Prepare your land with a cover crop that is either to be eaten by herbivores (rent a crowd), processed and redeposited: or roller-crimped directly ahead of the seeding equipment, ideally with an inoculant, is the most modern way of Regenerative Agriculture for monoculture planting. Your goal as a farmer is to create a haven for earthworms as they are the fulcrum animal for high quality soils and their contribution is to build the soil to cover your stones and rocks over time. The pointed joke is: you have to care so much for the soil that you never want to see it again. E.g., the amount of litter (earthworm food) was pathetic, the soil was mostly bare and drying out and compacting. A 8-16 way and selected (each has a specific purpose) species cover crop is ideal. Peter, our cover crops had been grazed. We don't have enough temperature to generate high biomass rye but agree with you sentiments.
