Growing up, my mum always ensured breakfast was home made. Mostly our breakfast consisted of some form of porridge or beverage; served with bread and margarine or an omelette. Nothing too fancy but wholesome and clean. Rice water, as we called it in our home has always been one of my favorites. Today I share this simple recipe my mum used and I hope you are able to try it.
Ingredients:
1 cup jasmine rice
7 cups water
About an inch of a vanilla bean pod
1/4 teaspoon salt
sugar to taste.
This is best served with evaporated milk
