Just a thought that hypnosis can be out of the scope of nursing practice in some states if you are not in the area of psychiatry. I ran into this problem when I was trying to do a study in my hospital because there are is specific definition in the Nursing Board about nurses utilizing clinical hypnotherapy at the bedside or outside of their scope. I am starting to work with one of the schools of hypnosis the one I attended who has an amazing in person program in order to alleviate this because in Arizona, you cannot do clinical hypnotherapy unless you have a psych license at least not as a therapy. You have to call it something else and my goal is to actually Create something so that in our hospital we can use nurse guided hypnotherapy for pre-procedures for alleviating pain and as you know, we have a huge problem with opioid crisis, and our patients are being less medicated, which is good, but it also creates anxiety for patients. The clinical part has to Align with the nursing scope as it is defined in the board of nursing who is now accepting more modalities at bedside 😊
