Bragança is a city that has always captivated me; its configuration is varied, with a medieval nucleus with its castle, well defined, from which the city develops linearly into a ridge, and descends to the river, with mills and memories of a past linked to the tanneries and the silk. This white part with old noble houses and others from the century. The 19th century, made up of two streets, joins the yards of the old Cathedral and is the most characteristic part that distinguishes it from any other city.
This Bragança that develops through nooks created by alleys, walkways, convents, mills, arches and bridges left me exhausted but satisfied.
My suggestion, based on many visits, is the following: enter the city using the last exit of the old IP4 BRAGANÇA ESTE N218, and park inside the castle walls (shadow). Start your city tour from the Castle. In Bragança, you can eat generically well, but if you are curious about true Trás-os-Montes cuisine, go back to the same junction on the IP4, and take the N218 6km to Gimonde, and there are several famous restaurants there. Visit Bragança at any time of year, but never on a foggy day.
