Thanks Julian for a great story of a part of the Moor I dont know so well, which of course is your reason for all this hard work to discover new places and inspire the rest of us to do likewise. Appreciate all the effort that’s required to make this series of video’s, thank you.

USA viewer here. This takes me back to a visit with family in Cornwall while I was a college student. We visited Bodmin Moor, and it seemed as if my cousins and other locals didn't linger there. Because it was haunted? I don't recall.

Devonport Leat used to run through my back garden, it's on the plans, but unfortunately the builder in the 70's decided to eradicate it when building the houses around here. A friend of mine who lives South of me, just off Derriford roundabout, still has the Leat with the granite slabs in his garden.

They got away with a lot more in the 70's...hopefully they wouldn't be allowed to do that anymore.

Fascinating stuff. Loving the Buckland Common information. I've just finished working on a walking book of Fife, and they're doing similar work - using grazing animals as lawnmowers to prevent invasive species from taking hold - on Auchtermuchty Common.

The leat will be the one that supply's water to Nuns cross Farm and Whiteworks. The later is a fascinating place to photograph with the old disused mine shafts along with the old ruins of the workers cottages. Not sure if you have visited either of these.
