Number 1 thing I was taught when I worked at Disney was this “even if you have no idea what the answer is to a guest question, as long as you act and sound like you know what your talking about, that’s usually enough for the guest” I did the DCP 08-09

As a California resident I have been a loyal Disney Fan and consumer. My family and I have maintained annual passes for many years now. Disney parks are growing into such a huge behemoths , And have been filled to over capacity and so many many times the past years it has detracted from the intent in the enjoyment of these parks. It has become so egregious that we have been in the parks at these times and we have felt uncomfortably unsafe and they have created atmosphere that could be dangerous due to many of the lands not being properly lit and filled to over capacity. But back on topic the cast members and I've been going to Disney Parks for many many decades. There has absolute been a degeneration and a decline with in the customer service that is provided on all levels of the parks, We are constantly shocked by cast members from new to old and very tenured cast members who exploited and abused their positions. They have been at their job way too long there is no check and balances and they Brun and behave in the parks as if they are guests . We have consistently observed cast members treating guess poorly disrespecting guests and abuse Guests !!! Unfortunately as we all really truly know and unfortunately rudely need to understand Disney organization has changed they have deviated from the original mission statement of Walt's there simply a big money making machine. But most importantly society has evolved where there are no boundaries ,are no filters and there's no responsibility for your actions nor your words simply no accountability. At the end of the day the parks no longer deliver that truly Magical Day as they once did. Dear Walt would be turning in his grave only if he had not been cremated ,rest in peace.

Disney has reduced the training. Traditions is 8 hours for a regular CM but only 4 hours for DCP. And the number of DCP CMs is increasing, which is evident with Disney constructing more dorms for DCP. But the other side of the coin is that society has become more entitled and meaner. My daughter was an attractions CM in MK and she dealt with some very difficult guests. And the nastier the guests were the more management stepped in and gave them what they wanted to shut them up. That hurts the morale of CMs who are just trying to abide by the rules.

I think that these poor people have to deal with crappy people who have demanding things all day. I get it. For what they get paid doesn't compensate what they have to deal with day in and day out. The higher ups need to leave the office and get back in the parks to see how they can help the staff.

Dan Cockerell used to do that quite often, but he's retired now.
