I would like to see an aggressive and highly territorial herbivore to be a villain. Apatosaurus, Styracosaurus, some Ankylosaurid or deinocheirus would be good ones. Carnivores aren't even killing machines as every movie shows them. Herbivores like Hippos and black rhinos are more unpredictable and attack anything they think as threat and neither do they like if someone enters their territory. I am pretty sure herbivore dinos too use to be as aggressive as hippos or even more.

Not just that, but during the entire movie, the Carnotaurus never speaks, even though the protagonist dinosaurs can talk to each other even with different species. The only sound the Carnotaurus makes is the typical roars, grunts and animalistic sounds you would expect from a dinosaur. My comfort cult classic of all time! I've even been investing into a personal theory of mine on the movie. Which is the idea that the reason why there's so many miscplaced dinosaurs, alongside the Carnotaurus' design. It's because it's an alternate timeline of Earth, where Tyrannosaurids never existed, and North America + South America + Africa were still fused together. That's why we're implied to be on Prehistoric Madagascar when Aladar begins his journey in the film and the lemurs exist as animals, alongside our main antagonist being an exclusively South American dino. It's a remixed version of the creteaceous period, heck it could even explain why an asteroid that didn't destroy earth, but only the island and shores of the mainland exists, this version of Earth then would've suffered from TWO asteroids. For the Carnotaurus, if Tyrannosaurs never existed, and three continents were still fused together. That leaves the niche of the "bone-crushing animal taking down ceratopsians" to be open, so Carnotaurus and potentially other Abelidsaurs evolved to take the niche by storm. That's literally what we see in the beginning of the film with the first Carno taking down a Pachyrhinosaurus. Maybe they even drove Carnosaurs like Gigantosaurus or Carcharodontosaurus into extinction, or maybe they were extinct too, and that's why the Carnos are an estimated 60 feet long. They also took the role of "Sauropod hunter" in the ecosystem, effectively making Carnotaurus in this timeline a Super Apex Predator.
