It's weird when you only hear somebody's voice for so long, and then finally see their face, and it was completely different than you expected. Not that there's anything wrong with your face, it's a very nice one (Reminds me a bit of young Chris Pratt). Just completely different than I expected. Well, there you go. Love the channel.

I have to echo another commenter about that cool Disney collection in the background! What or where is that Main st. stuff from? I love it! Also, it’s true you have one of my favor channels. I look to you for history and Mickey Views for the future! Amazing job! Sincerely, thank you for all the hard work you put in your videos. The quality shows!

Thanks for the kind words Brandon we appreciate it! The Main Street style buildings are the Lego Modulars I've been collecting over the last 6ish years, I love them so much because they remind of Main Street USA where I used to work at the Magic Kingdom! Thanks again for the support! - Luke

I lived next to that mall for 7 years and I constantly imagined where things would have been when I walked around. FWIW there are actually three movie theaters, an IKEA, and a few other large chain stores (like B&N) in the area the park would have encompassed. But it still seems like so much STUFF for a relatively small patch of land - especially in terms of parking, traffic lanes, and necessary support facilities etc... Then again, somehow Universal Hollywood still survives and thrives with a wonderfully small patch of land just a few miles away.

MGM wasn't anything more than a name by that point. Kirk Kerkorian was selling off the assets. Disney's agreement with Kerkorian gave the company the ability to use the "MGM" name wherever the company wanted.

Great video. You've got the perfect voice for narrating these types of videos. I'd like to see a lot more clips though. This was lacking a lot of those fun filler clips that keep people watching till the end.

I live by the region and I've always wondered why the Burbank mall was so big. This explains why. The foothills of Burbank always seemed like a cool place to have an amusement park.

The problem is nobody wants to film in Florida, they only want to film in California or New York, also guests don't want to spend an hour sitting and watching a sitcom or a game show in a studio or animators working at their desk drawing the same character in the same pose a hundred time and thanks to camera in phones and places like KZitem, there really isn't much "magic" in movie-making anymore!
@Topitopi14

As always the quality of your videos (research, content, quality, narration, voice...) is amazing. Nice to see you after hearing to you for so long! Just one tip, in a good way. The clips with you talking are way too long so the attention decreases a lot. That is nothing to do with how you talk as you are incredible at it, it's just something normal that happens to everybody. We studied that in video editing. I think shorter clips of yourself (max 10seconds, 5 seconds ideal) and more video-content as always would be perfect. Anyways it's just my opinion, I look forward for the next one cause your channel is just... Amazing! Thank you!

One last point you might have mentioned in this great video is that the proposed Burbank property is not THAT far away from the original planned site of Disneyland along the river and the Disney studio that was abandoned when it was deemed too small way back in the 1950's. Indeed, the footprint of the Burbank layout was kind of similar in size/shape

Uhm, I hate to be that guy in the comments, but The Disney Store was founded by Michael Eisner, 3 years after he took over Disney. I only know because I read his autobiography. I bring it up because you say that the Disney store was profitable when Eisner took over, and that's not true. Disney was an absolute shit show when Eisner took over, at every level.

I find it odd that they were considering changing the name of Hollywood Studios. Even if they don't film there anymore, virtually all of their attractions and rides are based on IP hollywood movies. So the name still fits. If anything EPCOT is what would need a new name because it is not now, and never was a community of any type and never will be.

One thing I learned in all these Disney/Universal wars is that the more Disney tries to fight back, the more they wind up with egg on their face. But then, their insane arrogance is partly to blame. They think everyone will always bow down to the Almighty Mouse... 😂

Fear of the unknown and competition itself can strike fear in the hearts of any human. Disney once ruled the Florida Theme Park scene but at the time the company was not loaded with money. Having a rival come to town and threaten to take 1/2 of their customers/guests away must have been terrifying.

I would have liked to visit this place it looked so great if only MCA had not become so sensitive maybe the park would have been a success although I would add more attractions And in fact I am the only one who would imagine a Halloween event there if Disney weren't so sensitive to horror then it would have an event just like Halloween horror nights With houses, scare areas and great shows
