Taylor is on tour in Brazil which is why she didn't attend Beyoncé's premiere. She also has been very quiet online because a fan passed away at her show in Rio (due to the stadium doing some really shady stuff), so not posting anything about Beyoncé wasn't her being rude/unprofessional. Why does grace keep pushing the “diversity is super important” BS? Is it important that an NFL team be diverse? Not if they want to win it’s not

She’ll never read this comment between you and me, but she says it repeatedly. It’s a business. Never forget the business, etc. She phrases it various ways. The business is hers. If she disses the party line or diversity just for diversities sake, she loses access to the corporate system. She loses access to the early releases. She loses access to the freebies. She loses access to the celebs. As it is she can critique, she can review, she can have opinions, she can offer advice - but she cannot cross the diversity line and speak candidly that movie audiences are largely White and Hispanic in the USA so film that way.

Streaming and Digital is killing the box office, I know all studios looked at Netflix as the streaming blueprint but did they forget Netflix doesn’t do theatrical, and when they do (glass onion) they kill their own movies. Honestly if I was an executive I would do some sort of Disney vault for content as well as extend digital releases tbh it’s tough and like you said Hollywood brought this on itself

Yeeeah, living ain't cheap. I went to college to get my teaching degree, and when i went back and had lunch with my friends- who are STILL in college and working shift jobs- and told them what I'm making, they were legitimately concerned and asked if i needed financial help! That ain't right! 😅

The Aqua Man trailer played before Napoleon today, and it just showed again how mid Marvel is at VFX 🙂. Aqua Man 2 is THOR. This EPIC VFX monster is what the Thor movies are supposed to look like. Look at how Aqua Man 2 is a fully fleshed out sci fi fantasy adventure. Marvel's more grounded with their VFX...if they can keep it to people in costumes and makeup, humanoid beings, and avoid anything extraordinary... Marvel's picked up their VFX game in late phase 3 onward. Even then, still not elite tier.

@@WithoutRemorse12 27:21 _"Five Nights at Freddie's, Freelance_ which remember did surprisingly well...." Yeah, probably skipped a line on her script so _Freelance_ should have come after the "surprisingly well" comment. The latter had a $40M budget and made $8M worldwide.

It would be cool to have a Sphere in the UK but you gotta remember, the UK is tiny. There are states bigger than the whole of the UK. Something as large and bright as the Sphere would be difficult to place in the UK in a place that isn’t an eyesore. It just doesn’t fit.

Hollywood already tried the young adult adaptation trend in the early 2010s, and they were never able to come close to the hunger games or twilight. The only hits that came out of those were the maze runner and divergent.

I think what also isn't helping Wish is that the songs are not up to par with their previous musicals. Hiring Julia Michaels was not a good call for such a big film. (Also, I personally find her lyricism way to wordy for any song she has worked on)

I think 90% of the box office problems are quality control. Spiderverse, FNAF, Barbenheimer, the Eras Tour and even Elemental (as it was able to chug away after its initial launch) were all quality movies that drew people in. Good stories still sell well, but so many studios have shifted towards ticking boxes instead of writing actually good stories.

No it’s streaming! It’s that simple. Netflix killed blockbuster and every studio putting their movies on streaming services at no extra charge is killing the box office. Every movie that did really well at the box office became event movies on social media. Making people feel like they had to see them. It’s very rare for a movie to do well at the box office these days without being an event movie. We have to change the way we review the box office in this new landscape. Judging the new hunger game to the original that came out over a decade ago is stupid. I’m sure the studios have already changed the way they internally review the box office at the companies
