These trains (3rd batch) where built by Metro Cammell and entered service in early-mid 90s, then some of them are modified for Disneyland Resort line. (First batch of trains entered service in 1979 when MTR starts to operate in HK, all trains equipped with ATO. I heard that the operation manual is based on LU Victoria Line which also got state-of-the-art ATO in that era.) btw, welcome to HK!

M-Trains are probably the distant relatives of the Underground's now retired D78 stock, which were also built by Metro-Cammell. The mock-up model for M-Train in the 1970s which is really similar to the D78 stock.

If you go to the South Island Line, there are no driving cabs at all. These trains have cabs as they were formerly used on the urban lines. MTR personnel occasionally occupy the cab to either monitor the system or manually drive the trains.

Hi, I am from Hong Kong, glad to see you come and try the Disneyland line! There are few must-try things in HK railways 1. Go to Ho Man Tin and try the really long stairs (Walking from the platform to Exit A3 with stairs only, it will probably need 10 mins! It make you tired but it is a excited adventure!) There are also train testing on the Shatin link platform. 2. Try the Hong Kong Light Rail (Recommanded route: 610) 3. The tram in Hong Kong Island 4. Try the automatic metro line - South Island line Also, bus routes in Hong Kong is very cool and awesome. Really recommanded: KMB 51 (A rollar coaster in Hong Kong, E200 is the only fleet in this route) NWFB 15 (Keep going uphill/downhill with tight roads, Dennis Trident can be seen in this route oftenly), you can also try the peak tram! NLB 3M (A route going up and down a really long 1:7 steep slopes) Recommanded: KMB 62X/258D/259D (Via two highways built on the hill) KMB 64K (Cannot explain but this is a really awesome route, especially drivers in this route are very skilled) NWFB 970X (*From cyberport only*: it via the Hill Road Flyover which is twisted 1:7 steep slope bridge across from the hill down to the tunnel! Also this route via the most busiest street in Kowloon!)

Hello, thank you for your tourist guide. Are the stairs at Ho Man Tin longer than the stairs when near Kennedy Road Peak Tram station? (I walked there from the bottom station! Film to come, both from 1988 and 2018. I went on the Hong Kong island trams. Film to come, both from 1988 (a little) and 2018. I also went to Tuen Mun - I travelled on part of the route which includes a section of street tramway. A little film to come, but only from 2018. I did not travel on any buses in 2018, but I did film some of them.

I never tried the stairs near the peak tram station but it is probably shorter then that in MTR station, but I am sure that those step on the stairs are smaller and more steep You can search "Ho Man Tin 562" to see how others finished the stairs in Ho Man Tin Station.

@@CitytransportInfoplus Hong Kong used to have 2 operators, the MTR and the KCR. The MTR East Rail, West Rail and Ma On Shan lines all were part of the old KCR network so you probably wont find platform edge doors on those stations.

The trains operating on that line (including the one you're traveling on) are modified m-train (those still in use and still a workhorse on the urban lines, ie the island line, kwun tong line and tsuen wan line). that's why the empty drivers can is there. M-trains were built by metro cammell based on the 67 stock(?)(Not sure about that) and are due for retirement past 2021 after nearly half a century of service. Sad to see them go as they became the icon of urban railways and in the minds and hearts of generations of Hong Kong people, the Disney land resort line would be the last place to see them after the urban line ones are retired and scrapped.

Panasonic V700. Its HD, if I was buying a new camcorder today I would get a 4K version. I bought it in 2012 and I also got a second battery, as one is not enough for a full day. Because it had dust inside the lens element I had it cleaned just before my Hong Kong visit - the service centre put in a brand new lens unit!

Great video as always, thank you for your content, but I have to admit that upon glancing at the title of this video and then the thumbnail image, I thought that maybe Disneyland - as in the Disneyland that most would think of first upon reading the title alone - would be getting new cars as the title fully implies the Disneyland in California without any reference to this being overseas. Best of luck!

Thanks for watching and commenting. I admit that I was vague in the title, as I did not want to make it too long. There are quite a few Disneylands - yes, California, but also Florida, Paris (France), Hong Kong and I think also Japan.
