Technical explanation: Kilohearts Disperser uses multiple all-pass filters in series to create the phase dispersion effect. An all-pass filter is a type of filter just like low-pass or high-pass, but it doesn't affect the frequency response, just the phase relationship.
Phasers also uses the same technique, but in parallel instead. This creates notches in the frequency response. In this video, I use two instances of Ableton's stock phaser in parallel to cancel the notches and get just the phase-dispersed signal.
