For everyone wondering how he got 5 and 7 at 3:40, he took the antiderivative of both equations, and then evaluated both of them.

Yeah, he really should've taken the time to do that, cause like half of the comments are people complaining about that.

On minute 3:42 he took the antiderivative of both equations, on the first he applied the 2 and the 1 and got the sum of that which was -5. Repeated the process using 2 and 3 on the second one and got 7. Added and got 12.(antiderivative is t^3-12t) so it’s (2)^3-12(2) - (1)^3-12(1) + (3)^3-12(3) - (2)^3-12(2). |-5| + 7 = 12

cant we integrate from 1 to 3 directly and take positive values only for distance, thanks
@Bakugantsuvai1

The method to get the answer without graphing is pretty obvious just find the critical points of the v(t) function and then plug in those values into the p(t) function find the difference of the distances then add them up.

how did he get 5 and 7? did he take the anti-derivative of each function and then the definite integral?
@patrickmayer9218

Just checked and that is exactly what he did. It would have been nice if he could've taken the extra 2 minutes to do that, cause I'm guessing he confused the shit out of a lot of people.
