Great 3D graphics & sprites, cyber punk art style, situational soundtrack, live action cutscenes, innovative Psyonic powers... To be honest, I always preferred Disruptor to the original Doom.

I honestly don't understand for the life of me...why great games like this go largely unnoticed? The PS1 is the king of sci-fi 3D action games, and all anyone talks about are the same 10 or so games. This game, alongside Omega Boost, Einhander, Silent Bomber, Vanark, Apocalypse, Armored Core are the cornerstones of PS1 classic sci fi action games imo.

Two things I forgot about this game...the epically cheesy cut scenes and the inability to aim up or down. #firstworldproblems I miss the hell out of this game, though

One thing I don't like about this game, and I just can't get over it, is the framing device for the levels. Let me try to explain. While the game itself is very nice to look at and it plays very well (helps that it was built from the ground up for the console and takes full advantadge of the hardware.) What I mean though, is that I do not like that the levels are staged as simulations. I know, it's not really a big deal in terms of gameplay, but it does pull me out of it much like how in a movie when they say "It was all a dream." In Doom, I *am* doomguy and I am fighting the forces of Hell. When I play Duke Nukem, I am saving the world from an alien invasion. It's not a "simulation." I'm not even sure why the game frames itself that way, but I just don't like it. It wouldn't bother me as much if it wasn't such a narrative driven shooter. Like, if that was just some backstory in the manual, but, eh... The game is still pretty cool though. Not my favorite, but it has a nice charm, a really cool aesthetic style, great music, and fun weapons.

Dude only the 1st level or so is like that. Did you play pass the games first 20 minutes? The teleporter brings him to different locations where the missions takes place.
