This is a cover of a song written by Sting in the 80s. It was originally a "love" song. Disturbed broadened the meaning to look at one losing faith in humanity. Excellent interpretation of the original, as only David Draiman can do it!

This is another in their long list of excellent covers, try land of Confusion and Sound of Silence to see how their interpretation of others songs is phenomenal. A couple of other songs that will get you tearing up are Hold On To Memories and The Light

Ultimately, you can't lose your faith in yourself. You need to look in the mirror and search your soul, find the strength to keep going. Next try Disturbed A Reason to Fight.

Interesting tidbits about this song. The writer wasn't referring to a "god" in the words "If I ever lose my faith in you". He wanted to leave it up to the listener to decide what that meant for themselves. Also, the song includes flat fifth chords...which were banned by the pope, and the christian church as being "dissonant" and "uneasy". In all of their wisdom, they considered it "the devil's music". True story. So if you believe in the wisdom of religion and an invisible god in the sky, you probably aren't allowed to listen to such beautiful and enlightening compositions. :) The more you research, the more ridiculous ancient superstitions become.
