Such a magnificent culture. I had the privilege of seeing a group of very hippie anti war protesters stop to ask to have their pictures taken with returning Canadian soldiers. For those uncertain of what the last scene is, it's a column of hearses being escorted down what is known as the Highway of Heroes, which is a stretch of highway which connects the Airforce base in Trenton Ontario, where the planes coming back from overseas with the bodies of Canadian soldiers land, to Toronto where the military coroner's office is. When a motorcade comes by it is almost always the case that people line up on the overpasses and salute the fallen heroes as they ride past. There is also a famous song about it with the same name if you're interested.

Gotta tell you, my friend ... I'm proud of the quality of this piece, and of my comrades whom it depicts. Many of these images are from the unit with which I had the honour to serve for 3 years ... CF Combat Camera ... the ones who carry the guns AND the cameras. Well done, sir.

One of the many moments I will never forget in my nine years of service with the CAF was right after my basic training, i was sent to my Regiment in Petawawa. I was part of an administrative support troop for a course and I witnessed for the first time a mass double door Airborne jump. I was so impressed and in total awe. I saw titans by the dozens silently descending from above. Little did I know that less than a year and a half latter, I became one of them. Thank you to all who serve and served.

This is such a touching video. My family served in the Boer War, WW1,WW2. My brother served in the US army. Was so disappointed to not be accepted into the Canadian military in the 70s because of a high school sports injury. Not sure why there are dislikes for this video. They serve to protect the weak at risk to themselves. Wear your poppy.

What a beautiful tribute to our brave soldiers. We take for granted how fortunate we are to live free. It's because of the bravery of our soldiers that we can have that freedom and it should never be forgotten. I am proud to have the medals my father earned for his service in the Royal Canadian Navy in the 2nd world war. We will never forget.

I have had the honor of knowing a WW2 Vet, an Allied bomber who completed all of his missions, including bombing runs over Berlin, one of the few that was NEVER shot down, not to say he was never shot at. He was a great man, an honorable man. He was one of the fortunate ones who was able to come home at the end of the war. I am honored to know that my father was friends with his son, and for me to have become friends with his grand children. I will forever be in his debt.
