I’ve got a production board of similar specs, that I’ve put over 180 miles on. Trust me when I say thread lock every screw, even when using nylon lock nuts. The vibrations from even road use loosen everything. Another thing you may want to check on is the motor mounting hardware. Mine came with m4 bolts… that after a while sheered off… at 20 mph. I drilled out the mounts for m6 and bought grade 8 hardware.

Hey man I just read your post here describing your "double back bone" idea (I believe that's the analogy, correct) Well I've been wanting to this for a board also? I've got a dog that likes to come with me when I ride on things? He's been surf paddle boarding etc. I wanted to make a tandem deck that's equivalent of 2 people? My dog isn't small. He's a solid American Bully 🙂 I was considering the idea making a deck slightly thicker than the battery container and then routing out the battery bay and effectively sinking it into the board? With the combined weight and due to the fact that I already purchased 2 hub motors without thinking...... I'm considering an additional 2 hub motors? With us both onboard I still want to be able to climb hills? Hub motors have the down side of load=resistance=heat=premature degradation of magnets The idea now is load/4 So more motors means the load is shared? Hub motors don't accelerate as fast, but they don't snap belts either? Note: I used to work at a wheel manufacture making mag wheels for cars.....I decided to use chromed "chariot spike" dress bolts for the bead locks on the hubs 😁 I'm too committed now in other words? Plus this isn't for performance this is to look awesome 😎

If you only need a truck to haul things sometimes and for long commutes, would you be better off renting? efficient vehicle for long commute and home depot or U-Haul pickup truck for hauling. Americans seem to be stuck on the idea they have to own all equipment for every job.

I've never understood this. Any weather that will not allow for regular skating will keep you off and electric one, so I can't see it as anything other than stupid. I actually want to use my body when I skate. It's kind of the whole point. If you're into these, that's great, no disrespect. But don't call it an alternate commuting vehicle.

Hey bro, glad u eventually wore a helmet in the video but rule of thumb when testing a board especially a brand new board, u NEED to wear a helmet. A bad battery, an issue with connection, or a bad or even improperly programmed vesc can seize the motors and wheels and throw you off mid ride. The initial ride is the most dangerous! Also on top of that, as community leaders we're trying to promote a culture of safety and with so many new riders researching and watching popular videos like these, it basically tells them helmets arent cool and so we gotta struggle to get these newbs to wear a helmet. Please help promote a culture of safety and wear a helmet in your videos everytime you get on your board even if you're riding slow!

Honestly you can buy one for better specs and cheaper cost. However nothing is like a DIY so that’s cool. I just think your battery size is lacking.

this is a cool video but i do disagree with you test as far as going to work and back home. you went right to work and then immediately went right back home, and why I don't agree with that is because when you get to the shop or get to work im sure you going to be there for hours on end, meaning you'll be able to charge it as you work, so yes you made with about 50ish percent but if time plays in affect, and you charge it while you work, you would actually leave with more power then you showed up with.

How much money did you spend buying a truck (you only need for hauling and long trips)? Why would someone do that? Why is your voice so high in pitch?

my friend got me into e boards, my first one is a Syl-08, i have a wowgo 2s max on the way, the cheaper stuff, ive had no major problems with the syl more than the range is a disaster... i barely get 6 miles out of it, its barely enough to get me to work and home again.

Now, every day that you ride calculate money NOT spent on a car that goes back in your pocket. Your time + fuel + maint + depreciation + wear/tear + loan + payment per diem = pay raise?

Thanks for sharing. Be sure to wear a full face helmet like a street bike one rather than motocross/bmx etc. When you fall and hit the head, 90% of the time it's on the face. Ps. It's really me God check the face and videos we are in a crisis.

So what you're saying is.. add either an induction to pass power for extra range or MagSafe lead from a backpack powerpack. 1 for 1 range and time is also not really a consideration so much as doing what you need in 1 trip no?

Yes, yes, go buy more electric crapware that's likely going to be powered off of coal energy and is gonna hurt my ears through engine coil whine...

So will you get a vesc onewheel (Floatwheel)? A big wheel in the middle can go over more obstacles than any skateboard wheel. Range might be lower but still.

Could you do a hill climb test? (Also actually measure the grade of the hill) I've been looking into alternative transportation (I live in a very hilly place), and it's stunning how many people over estimate how steep their hills are and say their thing can climb it

EUC (Electric Uni Cycles) are the master hill climbers of the personal Evehicles. You can even get ones that can handle as much as 45 degrees! Which is pretty much insane and more then you most likely need.

just use an electric bike, for the customizability and price range, it'd probably be safer and cheaper to go with them instead

Don’t take the heatshrink off the receiver for the double sided tape. Heat the heat shrink then put the double sided tape on that.

15:08 i wouldn't be worried about helmets, if you are a long time skateboarder, your knees are also going to be fine, what get's really messed up in high speed accidents are your hands and elbows
