I like your review..very well explained. Now I can say the writers didnt think it through how to end it clearly. Also how Caloy’s sweet and caring personality didnt match what he did at the end to his ghosting Len. Maybe he realized Len’s personality ar attitude is in not in synch with his or whatever.

I agree with your points, especially towards the ending! It was very abrupt and made me feel lost lol. But, I wanted to recommend another Filipino movie that I think you’ll enjoy (esp the ending). It’s called “100 Tula Para Kay Stella” The actor for Caloy is also the male lead in the movie

Oh wow, thanks for this review. As you can see from my pic, I am Filipino. 🇵🇭👌🥰 I left right after I graduated from college, a million years ago (1986), and have been in the US since 🇺🇸 . Honestly, I did not know there are Filipino movies on Netflix until I discovered K-Dramas just this July. Sad right? I've been living under a rock, it seems. 😳 😭😂 I watched half of your review and will check out the movie before watching the rest. Of course, I am fluent in Filipino/Tagalog and don't need the subtitles. 🤔💡😁 As always, thanks for your review. Btw, that female lead, her grandmothers (maternal & paternal) are famous actresses/singers. Yeah. I'm old. 👵🙃 Enjoy your labor day weekend. I'll be back for the second half of your review after the movie...thanks for the spoiler warning! And yes, the movie title was translated correctly! 🙂

I think Caloy kind of cut off the needed communication with Len because he is going back home. which ultimately means he doesn't really have to talk to someone to feel close or feel connected because he will be with his family! BUT regardless, the ending was very disappointing for sure! loved how you analyzed the cinematography though!

I watched the first few minutes and couldn't stand the movie. I'm Filipino and most of the Filipino stuff on Netflix are really bad tbh (I'm a fan of Janine and even I know she's not that good of an actress, the guy, meh). Also, most Filipino movies that are exclusive to Netflix are really low budget (Baril at Babae/Girl and Gun, Treste, etc.), which could explain a ton of rushed/ poorly written endings.

Filipino indie films po usually ang nasa netflix so low budget po talaga. The filipino movies netflix release in their platform are usually indie films so it is a given that their budget is lower compared to commercial films.
