paul sawczyc but then you would always have to replace your line. I fish almost every other day while it's still warm and this would be quite expensive and inconvenient. I understand why that could be a good idea, but it is simply Impractical.

There are radio tracking collars that degrade in about 1 year and fall off. A new material for fishing line probably would have to be invented, but the patent holder would become rich. I suspect that starting with something like animal intestine might show some promise.

I've seen this video, and it's really mind blowing. But I don't think the fishing line came from people trying to catch the dolphin. Much more likely, the line was just a bit of crap in the water and the dolphin got tangled with it by accident.

(1) Dolphins are NOT porpoises; and (2) the fact that this dolphin had a hook in its fin is a clear indication that it got caught BY ACCIDENT and not by someone fishing for it because dolphins eat only live creatures and DO NOT show any interest in bated hooks; so (3) knowing that the hook was something that "belonged" to a human it sought help from a human to help it get free. See the video posted directly by its rescuer and not this ignorant pirated version.

The dolphin probably didn't get tangled in fishing line because of a fisherman trying to catch it. More likely the dolphin was trying to get at the fisherman's catch and ended up getting inadvertently tangled. Most fishermen have a fond love and great respect for nature but sometimes unforseen shit can happen and it's not always within the powers of the fisherman to clean it up. Happy to see that this time a diver was around to help.

I have an owl friend who flies over and visits with me whenever I park my ATV in his area of the woods. He'll land in the closest tree and watch me while I talk to him. He stays as long as I do. I think he likes it when I talk to him. Sometimes he'll fly right across the trail, right in front of me. I think to get my attention so I'll stop for a visit and talk to him. He's the coolest owl I've ever met. We had a pretty cool first encounter and ever since then he'll land really close and visit with me if I stop in his area. I'm not sure how he recognizes me, because I know several other people who ride there and he doesn't show interest in anyone else. It's kind of funny. Sometimes he flies so close in front of me, when he's trying to get my attention, that I could reach out and touch him, but I've never tried, that would just be rude.

More likely the dolphin tried to steal the catch as it was being reeled in and hooked it self. Instead of loosing all your line or harming the Dolphin you would just cut the line. Seen it many times down here in south texas when fishing the flats..They will even steal the catch that is on a stringer.
@mikebetts2046
