SS Skerries later the SS City of Waterford.
There is a lot of confusing information about this wreck.
Captain D MacLean is listed in SIBI as being the Captain which I think where a lot of the confusion comes from.
W G Gibbons was the Captain at the time of the collision and stayed at Southampton after being rescued to speak to solicitors representing the Sarostat Company.
All references to the City of Waterford during WW2 are, I think, a different ship, SS Skerries didn't change her name until 1946
