Also, her story makes me reframe my singleness more positively. It’s really been upsetting me lately (I’ve been single a long time) but seeing how people can be together for decades and then just split shows me that finding someone doesn’t automatically guarantee happiness or satisfaction.
@Ava2969ny

And during those decades, they can be living as roommates, sleeping in separate room, etc. After the disappointments I experienced from just coming to the realization that some couples who appeared happy were actually unhappy, that was a wake up call that made me feel blessed to be single. There are things I would definitely change about my past decisions, but I am glad I didn't marry the person I thought I was madly in love with at 19...I didn't even know myself at that age...so it definitely would not have been a good decision.

I wish I knew this lady 10 years ago and wish I could know her today. About forgiveness, I realized a while back that a lot of forgiveness had to do with forgiving myself for stupidly and stubbornly hanging onto a relationship that probably never really existed except in my own mind. I finally did forgive and I was able to just let it go because when i did, i realized that it doesn't matter anymore. I am almost 70.

Spend the time you need to accept all that unconditional love your pets will provide; they do help with the healing... go back to the time period when you first met that toxin that smothered your life ~ who were you? Forgive yourself for not knowing that exists and move forward. Everyday intentionally be grateful for something, smile about being free and build on that. Hobbies that you never had time for; also help healing.

Her ex is proof men up and leave a marriage the moment its inconvient and they want to chase their youth again. I am so glad she reclaimed her identity and voice ❤ Why do women lose their identities after getting married to a man? This needs to stop.
@Ava2969ny

They lose their identities to appease the ALPHA males...women often diminish or lose themselves, voluntarily or involuntarily, to make others feel better. Patriarchal societies subliminally condition women to lose themselves in the identities of their husbands.
