Because it’s made of paracord, I believe you can call this “TACTICAL.”

I'd like to, but while making it the paracord got all twisted and I ended up with tacticular torsion.

I just made each strand about twice the length of the final dimension and cut off the extra when I reached the size I wanted. A bit of cord was wasted, but it's sure better than coming up short.

@2:27 you bolted a steel hook into the ceiling. Can you explain more about how to do that? Like specifically how did you know how far in to go, and how did you know you wouldn't go into the actual metal of the roof and go through the roof? How does that work? And how do you know which cars you can do that and which ones can't? Your video is genius. Very cool. You went further than others on building the cargo net instead of just buying it.

I used an existing hole in one of the roof braces, meant for a headliner clip. I simply tapped threads into the hole and screwed the hook in. If your car has headliner push clips, you should be able to do the same thing.

What did you screw the J hook into? That car ceiling is just fiberglass. Did you drill into the car ceiling cross members? Thanks for the video.

@@reed.k.h and your headliner doesn't sag? Perhaps the J hooks you used have built in washers that support the headliner? You inspired me to weave a ceiling net for my Scion XB, that I sometimes camp in. I just ordered the Paracord. Thank you.

What formula did you use to determine the length of each strand relative to the desired dimensions of the cargo net? I've been searching the internet and found a couple of formulas. I cut the length of my weaving strands by following one of those formulas and the strands were way too short to create the cargo net in my desired dimensions.

@@reed.k.h thank you. That's a lot simpler than some of the complicated formulas I saw! I used one of those formulas and wasted a bunch of cord (I repurpose it, but it was rendered useless to make my net)

550 lbs or 350 lbs or 250 lbs paracord? Which did you use? I bought the 550 lbs, but I think it's too thick, overkill for this application.
