I decided to keep rolling with some carbon fiber work but wanted to take it up a notch. That said here comes the Forged (Chopped Strand) Carbon skinning!! This stuff was a pain to do but I definitely learned a lot from this project!!
MAKE SURE TO USE HIGH TEMP RESIN. I didn’t given this was my first attempt and after about 6 months the heat clouded the resin bad. I am exploring new options for resin currently to fix these panels.

Chopped Strand Carbon Skinning Process:
between 65-75 *F
Key surface with 40-60 grit to ensure proper adhesion
Evenly spread epoxy resin across the panel. Let set for 2 hrs to achieve a good tack
Apply carbon across the panel
Let cure for another 2 hrs after applying carbon fiber
Shake loose material from the part
Apply 1st layer of topcoat resin
Cover panel in "peel ply" material and smooth out
Vacuum bag part (optional)
Let cure for over 8hrs
De nib and sand/key entire surface with 120grit sandpaper
Apply 2-3 more layers of topcoat resin each 2hrs apart or 8hrs apart
Let cure for over 8 hrs and sand/key entire surface flat with 100-240 grit sandpaper
Clean the surface and apply 2 thin layers of topcoat resin 2hrs apart
Let cure again for over 8 hrs and wet sand surface with 400/800/1200 grit sandpaper
The surface is now ready for ceramic coating protection

Wet sand surface with 400/600 grit sandpaper
The surface is now ready for clear coat protection
