Thanks for your kind words. Yes it's a good buy and value for money. Just checked, as you said it's out of stock now :( but I see the 100watt RMS one still available if you are interested.www.doogesound.com/products/doogesoun-100w-subwoofer-plate-100watts/692967000005668482 Glad to connect with another DIY'er. Do share pics of your build 😊

@@acousticmalayali Seen that 100watt plate. But I need atleast 200watts of power to drive my sub (12inch JBL 300Watts). I would have definitely bought that otherwise. Anyway I will see for few days if it comes in stock again. I will definitely share the pics of my build. Thanks a lot brother!

@@acousticmalayali Can you please mention the plate dimensions?
@acousticmalayali

Sure, for the 200W RMS that I purchased, the plate is 32.2 cm long by 18.3 cm wide on the outer side. The cutout will probably be around 1 to 1.5 cm lesser so that the plate can sit from the outside. Let me know if you need any other info

Thanks for the feedback. Actually it’s not straightforward to record deep bass with microphones, regular ones don’t have that low frequency extension. The ones you hear on most DIY channels have just mixed the audio track bass boosted into the video. That’s actually not a real indication of the subwoofer performance. To genuinely record it we will have to look at expensive studio or bass drum mics. Nevertheless thank you for sharing and point duly noted. Will work on exploring options to show how the sound quality is. Regards!

Excellent work sir and thanks for sharing knowledge, now i have the courage to convert my pioneer 1211 subwoofer of car to passive speaker. Sir can you make a comparison video on quality of diy subwoofer vs branded subwoofer of 12 inches which doesnt costs less than Rs 40000 of famous brands like polk, bic ametica, Jbl, klipsch etc.. How much is the difference in audio quality and is it worth spending extra 25 to 30 k? 200 watt amplifiet is out of stock, i called the distribuyor mentioned on their website and he managed to ship 1 piece which was incidently available at that time. Will i be loosing on sizeble quality on my denon AVR X1700 H compared to branded ones.

Thanks for your reply! The pioneer W1211 is an excellent driver and paired with a suitable cabinet will most likely outperform budget subwoofers. Make sure you refer the spec sheet and chose the right cabinet volume according to the fs and thiele small parameters. I have reviewed the BIC America PL300 and Polk HTS12 at the dealership and I did not feel the price to performance ratio that warrants an expenditure of about 60k INR hence decided to build my own subwoofer. However subwoofers with active DSP correction, ex the Polk DSW Pro660 or higher SVS models will outperform DIY subwoofers especially in an untreated room. An alternative is to either treat the room with bass traps or build an dedicated equalizer in the lower frequency band, 20-250hz to even out the peaks and troughs. Apologies for the long post. My conclusion is go ahead and build your own, it will give you much better performance than any Sub without DSP or active correction.

Thanks sir, your video is the reason I am building my own. Build a box of 50 litre as per spec sheet, will get the mdf cut by CNC will use braces for rigidity and will ensure rounds and curves to make it attractive, professionally polished for look and sheen[I am from paint industry]. Thanks to you again and keep posting nice videos like this
