"Whatever that is in imperial, I don't care" after saying you're using 1 inch RHS made me laugh! Great video John, looking forward to more.

I cobbled something together from some cast-off computer monitor stands; similar in idea, but yours is heavier duty and has longer reach. Well done.

I had a lucky find at the scrapyard, some workstations that had heavy cast aluminum articulating arms for displays and keyboards. I didn't have a use for them at the time, but my packrat nature would not let me pass them by. Less than a year later I was glad to have them!

I saw some at my local scrap yard also just last weekend. I was almost finished the build by then but in any case I really like how compact mine came out. I think I might make another one for the mill pretty soon. Thanks for watching.

Once I get the new shop up and running, a couple setups like you made are in order for hanging cameras in precarious situations here! I like your approach, will probably be borrowing ideas, thanks for sharing!

Hello John, That looks like it will work really well... the sample footage was very good... I noticed the road bike, are you a cyclist? I raced for years but now just do a bit of coaching and occasionally ride on the velodromes... Take care. Paul,,

Nice. I need to make some of these camera mounts. How's your lightsaber spoon going? I notice it's there ready for quick access 😀

Nice job, John. I've thought often about building an articulated arm. Was there a reason you did not put the thrust bearing between the arm ends?

Hi Joe, I wanted the arm to be pretty stiff and stay where I put it. The bearing stops the nuts from unscrewing. Even with lock nuts I couldn’t stop it working loose. The bearing works great though. I probably won’t move it too often. I mainly just change the zoom and adjust where it is pointing.
