Everything came out so beautiful! It looks like you hired a professional company and paid big money. Thank you for sharing a tutorial on how to do this. Using the wooden dowel to connect the two rods was the missing link that I couldn’t figure out. And also thank you for showing how to cut the pipe now I can get that cutter and do it myself instead of my poor husband using a hacksaw.

Amazing video. What rings did you end up using? I can see that at the end, you were able to pull the curtain to the ends? Regular rings would not allow you to go through the brackets. Thanks again for the creative tutorial.

Im also using a double bracket. The link uses 1” and 5/8”. How did you use 3/4 “ conduit to fit both slots?

Hi Jessica! It actually came with the house. It's the only thing we kept from the original owner :)

I’m saving this video! I love how it came together! Did you place both rods on the same set of brackets or did you install two sets of brackets?

You need to put an acid etch primer on first or the paint will flake off

Following your instructions but unable to find a finial to fit my 3/4 conduit. Do you do anything special to get them to fit?
@melitiana
Жыл бұрын
Yes we had the same issue! We just put a small piece of cardboard as a spacer between the rod and the finial so the screw hits the cardboard. Worked for us and you can't see it :)

Hi Great vid, What material is the rod? Did the rings scrap off the paint on the rods with use?
@melitiana
2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Sometimes it does but for the most part no. And the scratches are small. The more clear coats you put on will help with that!

Did you use bypass brackets so your blackout curtains could slide all the way across? It doesn't look like you used C rings on your curtains. I'm having difficulty finding a way to slide curtains across a long span as they stop at brackets so you have to use C rings and bypass brackets.
@melitiana

I'm not able to slide the curtains across the brackets unless i lift up the rod entirely. but that works for me because i hardly ever move the curtains beyond the brackets.

How do the curtain rings pass over the rod holder brackets?
@melitiana
Жыл бұрын
they dont pass over the brackets. We have to lift up the rod in order to move the rings over. We rarely move need to move them that far though.

Hi dear I'm from South Africa we use different measuring metrics but from looking through your list of material Did you use an 3/4 inch electric metallic tube for the rod ?🤔 I'm lost

How do you attach the finials to a pipe? don’t you need something for them to screw into?
@melitiana
Жыл бұрын
there's a screw on the finial that you can tighten until it touches the pipe
@dianehidrogo5753
Жыл бұрын
The finials I am finding are too small or too large and the screw doesn’t tightening to the 3/4 conduit size did you get a longer screw or do anything special?
