Fun fact: I saw a short video recently comparing the current Dior collections to the ones of a decade or two ago and everyone was complaining how boring the contemporary fashion is, but this dress literally took my breath away. Such beautiful understated elegance. And here you come and post how to make this gorgeous dress and just wow! It really suits you and looks every bit as elegant as the original. Amazing work.

Thank you 😊 I mean, yes it's not super out there in terms of "Fashion" and design innovation, but it's a very wearable piece, and I can appreciate that.

I absolutely fell in love with one of the tunic tube dresses from last years 2021 collection so I’m right there

Totally agree with you; the skirt of the dress that went down the runway does look messy. Yours is MUCH better. Your version of this Dior fashion, inside and out, looks really lovely. I hope you get to wear it frequently. Good work! Thanks for sharing!

I think this style of dress is one of the more timeless and elegant of the last hundred years or so, with elements going back a long way into European history. This style of dress with a pretty blouse underneath is honestly my favourite and I have begun gradually transitioning most of my wardrobe toward this general look. So pretty.

I really enjoyed how this dress came out, it looks beautiful. I am surprised though that you did not add any seam pockets into the pleated section.

Thank you so much for this video! What a beautiful dress! May I ask how much tartan fabric you ended up using to complete the dress?

I, also, have always loved this dress. Your version is beautifully done. I love the plaid colors you chose as well. The yellow would never suit me. I have this saved on Pinterest to make one day. Now I will have to save your video along side it. One question, how comfortable are the braided straps? And can you wear it in summer without the top underneath? I like all my clothes to do double duty if possible.

I was worried about that too, but I had no problem at all! I also worried that it would be uncomfortable with the backpack's straps pushing on it, but I don't even notice it.

Your dress is so beautiful! I remember watching this show and instantly loving it. And that is a really helpful tip about finishing darts! Did you draft your own pattern for the bodice?

Absolutely beautiful design. But on me, those straps would be falling down constantly. How do you keep them up?
@AspiringCostumeDesigner
Жыл бұрын
I thought that they would fall of too first! But when I was patterning it I just put it to the widest point possible where it was still stable, so now it looks like it would fall, but actually I wore it a lot since, and I never had any problems.
