It would be cool to paint the gold on the outside before spackling. That way, the texture of the glass would still show through on the inside and look more like the inspo pics:)

Safe electrics? This Is a country that hammers in earth rods and then doesn’t bother with testing them (from the videos I’ve seen on here anyway) Wire nuts to join cables (potential high resistance leading to heating issues) and has bare terminals on socket outlets. I should think that lampshade is the least of the worries.
@jacobkeck2756
11 ай бұрын
The overwhelming majority of new construction we use Concrete encased electrodes. And in the case that you are using ground rods unless you’re using a singular ground rod engineers have not found it to be necessary to test as it always meets the minimum amount of resistance needed. Wire nuts are only typically used on connections up to 10 gauge wire. Anything much larger than that you’re using split bolts or Polaris tabs. Very solid connection. As for the light you could make the point that it is not UL listed. And that material has not gone through testing to ensure no fire hazard. But realistically if you put a LED bulb in there I sincerely doubt there would ever be a risk of overheating.

LED lights don't even get warm to the touch anymore. Plus fabric lamp shades have been acceptable for longer than that even so proximity to the light bulb isn't an issue. As long as the weight is appropriately supported so strain isn't put on a cord that isn't meant to support it'll be fine

Yes if you’re being careful but that globe can’t withstand the heat that the lightbulb will let off and it will just melt the globe, it’s a huge safety hazard that’s just a plastic bowl she used a lightbulb let’s off an exponential amount of heat.
