When you’re running a roto zip to cut rock on an inside feature, go clockwise and it’s a much cleaner finish. Clockwise to cut an inside, counter clockwise to cut around the outside of something.

Pro tip for the drywall tape reel - if you are right handed, you will apply the tape from right to left, with the tape reel on your left hip, pulling from the bottom. I've got 30 years of experience as a taper, it will feel smoother and more natural. If you're left handed, reverse this, but always pull from the bottom. The advantage is, you won't have to pre-pull tape off the reel. You pull directly off, and it's smooth every time.

Yes good point. 5 mins of what We are not going to do in this video. I actually turned one off @ three mins in when the guy said "in this video these are the things I'm not going to do in this video. Oh yes, building speaker crossovers video. "The video was about the host." There are far too many of them I'm noticing, going on and on like best girlfriends, suddenly you are two, three minutes in and have not even mentioned the topic, but yes now we know you're having a gee wiz jiffy blond hair day. Definitely this video could be used as a template for creating a quality video, that does not chase people away, make them angry for wasting their time. It especially ticks me off when content has nothing to do with the description. Who are these people? Where do their educations come from. a closet in a basement? I' like that you pointed out, the quality of the production. It certainly is worth mentioning.

That is the best drywall video I have ever seen. I have done a ton of dry wall in the past, I have worked with professional crews often; joining the crew to get them out of my way so I can hang my doors and run my trim. They got 1 day. I got one day and the carpet goes in. dry wall crew was usually 4-5 guys, often adding myself. I ran Door and detail usually with 1 traniee, often by myself. Hanging anywhere from 9 to 18 doors. 2 to 4 bedrooms, 2 baths often. The point is we had to fly; there was no taking breaks most of the time. You start and you don't stop until the job is finished. I learned a lot of tricks from all those guys; however if we had used all the techniques in this video we could have spent the afternoon doing whatever. paid by the hour I guess we were better off. I'll never do dry wall by the hour again that's for sure. I would say that every "pro" dry waller I have ever met could benefit from this video. Now my only question is how much should I charge to do the room you did this video in, paint ready? I'm in Oregon. Go Ducks.

Jeff, as a young man I drilled water wells breathing in the rock dust for years. Dust will fill your lungs and make breathing difficult for you later on. Thanks for the tutorial. I use to hang sheetrock for years. I haven't done it in about 5 years now. I thought I'd watch to see what I can learn, just in case I have to ever do it again. I like the Rotozip tool. that would have saved me a ton of time. The 3M Spray is an excellent idea...another time saver. With the inside corner mudding, brilliant idea. I wish I had that back in the day. Also with the inside cornering, I used the inside corner tool 95% of the time...with mesh tape or drywall tape. I kind of miss hanging drywall, but then again, not. Believe it or not, I use to have fun sheetrocking, Taping, Mudding & Texturing. I was also the Hot Mud King. I was the 5 minute Hot Mud Man. Mix & go, Mix & go, Mix & go no time to waste. @johntidwell4121

From another pro taper, and I was teaching a new taper, I would agree with you Jose. This is not the method I would teach to a trainee, however, for beginners who may only need these skills for one project, his method actually makes sense. It is SO easy for a rookie to mess up the install on a paper inside corner, especially without a pro beside them. If not, and the paper corner wasn't done right, no amount of spackle is going to fix blisters and round corners. Its the one thing a "Do-it-yourself" taper is most likely to mess up. IF you have never done it before, and IF you don't have a pro to show you what you are doing wrong, this is a really good method, but you must press the mesh tape tight, one side at a time, and then use the corner trowel with 90 minute mud. Any deviation from this, and it is bound to fail. Is this method better than than the method pro-tapers use? No, but if you don't have the pro skills, this method is a little more idiot proof. As far as Danny's comment, yeah I've never seen that for paper corner bead and I'm real skeptical. It works well for plastic corner bead here in New Jersey. It may have more to do with your climate Danny. When the heat is on, you always have to be careful not to get too far ahead of yourself. If your mud or glue is drying, before you get the chance to bed your tape or corner bead in, you're screwed.

Cutting out a window after attaching a sheet is fantastic. Wish I saw this before doing my reno.

I find nothing about mudding drywall easy. You drywall guys sure make it look easy, but you'd laugh at the work I've done in this old house. To be fair though this video is currently in my "watch later" folder.

Hi Johnathan, I did a series of videos showing the whole system step by step so that homeowners could follow the process and get a great result. you can find it on the home page if you search drywall installation videos. Cheers!
