The hidden stitches you did for the sides were amazing and shows the finish one can get that the sewing machine cannot accomplish. Thank you.

Lol this helps alot did not use it for any tablet XP instead I reworked it a bit now holds my ds can fold all the way out for play sill the sides of DS are covered if accidents occur... And I made the top and sides a BIT plush to it can survive falls better and it DOES have the pockets if I need to store DS chargers and games 👌😊👍

fantastic! do you think that if I sewing with the sew machine will be ok? will have the same result? do you have another types of bags or hand bag? thank you!
@onlinefabricstore
8 жыл бұрын
+Rosa Pacheco Yes, you can sew with a machine instead of hand stitching. There's two options. You can sew the sides with the bag folded so the outside fabric is on the outside (as in the video). You will be able to see the stitches in this option, and a bit of the lining will show on the edges. Or you can sew it with the lining fabric facing out and then turn it right side out after sewing. The only reason I didn't do it this way was because the fabric was too thick, but if you're using different fabrics, this might work.

+Sheareen Tan I wasn't able to reply directly to your comment, so I hope you get this! The final dimensions are 8" x 11.5". Yes, you should be able to add inches and modify the curve of the flap. Just make sure to add plenty to account for the thickness of the laptop as well. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hi, I want to make this bigger to fit a laptop, what are the final dimensions of the clutch? Am I able to just add extra inches onto the pattern so that I can make it big enough for my laptop?
@jeneanebrian
7 жыл бұрын
Sheareen Tan- add 3 inches to the width and length of your laptop measurements. Enlarge the pattern by cutting and extending it in the middle for width, then redrawing the flap. Don't forget to change the snap placements accordingly. Add additional length at the bottom of the pattern.

The interfacing is a stiff material that makes the clutch keep its shape. You can definitely do it without, but it will be more floppy.
@MedusaOblongata

I'm making this with pleather on the outside, and every time I try to do a hidden stitch, it rips the pleather. I've made 4 different bags and keep having this problem. I want to make it so the lining and pleather have clean seams so I sewed it with front sides facing together, but then can't seem to figure out how to close up the actual purse sides with the invisible stitch without ruining the entire bag bc it keeps ripping. Could someone give me any tips?
@onlinefabricstore
6 жыл бұрын
Hi Rachel, the only thing I can think of at the moment is putting a strip of the pleather over the edge, like bias tape, and hand stitching it in place. There is so much tension on the stitches when they are on the edges, so moving them to the front and back wouldn't pull at the fabric so much. If anyone has any other suggestions, please chime in!
