I've been meaning to make 1 for my dogs. It's on my to-do list TODAY! My pack of pitbulls love to be outside running & playing. But even with lots of shade and their pool, it's just unsafe in this rising heat & humidity, so they can't stay out long. I'm hoping this will help them enjoy playtime for longer periods.

I am an animal lover, keep them healthily and happy. If you are going to use this in an open area outside don't know how effective it will be unless they are directly in front of it, these are designed for giving some cool air in a confined space (indoor rooms). Thanks for the comment and for watching and don't spoil those babies to much.

I found a 1 1/2" PVC adapter worked great to push it out thru the 2 1/4" drill hole, which was the only size circular attachment I had, so improvised. Pushing from within helped seal it even more thait's already well sealed fit. Fits perfect and super snug into the Styrofoam 2 1/4" hole too. I also bought a ft. of sch40 PVC and a couple of 45 degree fittings and adjusting the direction. Yours is great, except I don't like all the glue showing.

Is a liner necessary? Can't I just use the bucket? I live in Brazil and have no idea where I would find any insert. They don't sell these bucket here, but I can use an old paint container with the same dimensions and design. I can improvise, but not sure what I might do, if you say it really is necessary.

Some sort of liner is needed in order to insulate the bucket, other wise the ice will melt quickly. I like what you're saying about improvising, find something that works for you with the material available. Thanks for your comment and good luck.

Easier to cut the bucket if you heat it with a heat gun. Like butter

It wont cool it down like an A/C would, but it does reduce the temperature a bit.

That Styrofoam bucket insert has to be the most difficult thing to track down - near impossible if you're from Canada, like I am. (I've found three different vendors carrying this, and none will ship to Canada.) If the author of this video or anyone reading this comment knows who will ship this product to Canada, please let me know!

Sorry about your dilemma. The only place I found them was on Amazon, but can't answer about shipping to Canada. Sorry I can't be more help. Thanks for your comment.

I just happened to have a leftover styrofoam panel remnant that I had from cutting out panels for my garage door. I will be cutting "V" on the non-reflective side. I'll bend them inward to form a circle/tube cut another piece for the bottom the diameter of the bucket bottom. I'm thinking that this should be pretty easy. Also use gorilla glue. I have plenty of buckets fans and some leftover section of styrofoam sheeting.... Proposed costs...Free WIN!

How long Did the ice last and would dry ice work better?
@AndersenWoodCrafts
Жыл бұрын
A few hours (4-5). It also depends on the size of the ice blocks, freezing water in half gallon milk jugs work well for me. Thanks for the comment.

Dry Ice is Carbon Dioxide. I would not recommend.
