My Hauptwerk setup with home made midi pedalboard Johann Sebastian Bach: Simfonia from Cantata No. 196 (transcripted by Peter Baekgaard) Casio Privia Nektar Impact IX49
There’s clearly a great deal of hard work gone into building this pedalboard, not to mention musical talent to perform Bach’s nicely interpreted Cantata. Congratulations and thanks for sharing

Nice musicianship and performance. So cool you can practice the "pipe organ" at home. My grandfather would have loved this. He built a pipe organ from scratch, probably around 1935, into my grandmother's 2 story house with the pipes extending through the ceiling and up into the 2nd floor. Imagine that? And now we have Midi, computers, and 2x4's home made pedalboards.

Good morning ! Thanks for this music, you are just super! I would like to know what audio system do you use? And in general, all the components of your organ, I would also like to play and have such a sound. I have a console, this is a Sonus Viscount three-manual organ, but I would like to know the rest. Thank you in advance for your help. Best regards, Dominica
@8Doriene

Hi Dominica! Well, you can connect your Viscount organ via MIDI interface to your computer, and than try Hauptwerk or Grand Orgue software with a nice virtual organ sampleset to get a more realistic organ sound. There are plenty free samplesets available on internet, and several forums to help you to start your virtual organ project.

Thanks for your comment! The sampleset is the Velesovo organ. For the pedalboard I used pine wood, and some African hardwood (?Wenge) for the half notes.

I used a MIDI keyboard's panel for this project (M-Audio E-Keys), there was no need for further encoder to connect it to the pc.

Good on you for building your own pedalboard. Really admirable Just on thing I have noticed . Your pedals are hinged from the front like a spinet organ but I think all standardised full pedal board pedals are hinged from the back so I wonder how different it is to play. I guess if you just play with the toes as they did in Bach’s time the difference would be negligible but do you have enough room to use the heel as well which is needed for later works?
@glasss1978
Жыл бұрын
I have a Nord Pedalboard 27, also front-hinged. I practice some serious Bach on it successfully and don't struggle with switching to a pedalboard in a church. The only difference I notice is a lighter touch and somewhat shorter travel distance when I push a key, but as I said, 15 mins warm up on a different pedal and no problem going with it. Organ pedals (and manuals) can be so vastly different anyway (think of an modern AGO and a historical instrument in Europe), you always need to adapt a bit to whatever new you play on. As for heel, I can do it no problem, but I have an EU 39 feet, some big guy with bigger feet may struggle, not sure.
