I AM a licensed hairstylist and your application is flawless 😍 👍 For anyone watching this, she mentions something very important, she touches it up every 6-8 weeks, this is why her hair is even without weird banding. Also, great toner application! My only note, I don't use higher than 20 volume peroxide developer with the toner because that's what the manufacturer recommends and its unnecessarily strong, but that's just me. Great video!

Your technique is flawless. About those products...I would try using 20vol instead of 30 for on-scalp lightening, especially bc your natural isn't super dark. You'll be able to easily lift it to the same level 10 with more control/less damage by just leaving it on a little longer to lift to the same pale yellow. Since you lift enough, you have the option to use a less damaging demi color like maybe 10PA while others are stuck using permanent T18 with high volume developer bc their hair wasn't lifted correctly. The reason you don't see DIYers using them is bc both cover up mistakes from the lightening process and that's why store box dye is always made of high volume/permanent color. It's yucky. Even if you don't want to try a demi shade, using T18 with just a 6 or 20 vol like the directions mention will be less damaging but without changing the results. It all comes down to the lifting process that you've already mastered.

Going to start doing my own hair this way bc my hair stylist (who has done my hair since I was 8) said she can't get my hair the ashy platinum I want bc it's not really a real color, and that everyone is using a filter to make their hair look that way 🤨 this is the exact color I been asking for for the past 3-4 years and I always end up with somewhat platinum smh
@jordanmurdock
4 жыл бұрын
Morgan Mendoza Oh my gosh that’s crazy! I know some stylist won’t attempt to do their clients hair this light because of the damage and what could happen...But it’s definitely a real color and my hair is actually this light in person when I just have it done. Obviously it’s not as light when it needs to be re-bleached or toned. But I hope you achieve the color you want, just of course be very careful when doing so, or maybe find a “blonde specialist” 🤍
@MM-tn5uk
4 жыл бұрын
It’s definitely a real color!! I got my hair professionally bleached and toned for over a year and it got just as light as this, like blinding white. You just need to use an ash/blue/purple/gray (whichever cast you like) toner. Right after bleaching it looks darker than it does after toning-the brassy look of just-bleached hair makes you think it lifted less than it actually did. My stylist told me all of this and I saw it firsthand. It can be hard to judge from a youtube video but as a third party who got results that looked like this in real life from a professional I can tell you that it’s not just a filter! My natural color is a dark honeyish blonde but it lifted very easily as well. I think my stylist used 20vol on me.

armyco._ Yes you can. But if you are already blonde in any area on your head you shouldn’t be overlapping that and bleaching over it. But if it hasn’t been bleached you can process your entire head the same way. Try a lower vol developer to figure out what works for you. And just one bottle of toner should be enough. I only used half a bottle. In my opinion, but you should always ask a professional for their opinion. Hope that helps😊

WoW!! Why would you use 30 vol when your natural hair is SOOO light???? It's certainly none of my business, but you could easily use 20 vol, mix a bit thicker like a 1 to 1 ratio with the bleach, and let it work for 45 mins to 50 in order to prevent possible yellows if that's your issue. 30 vol is for very dark hair!! 🙄

@jordanmurdock

Jessica Bassett Thank you. It’s definitely a balance I’ve learned over a very long time of doing my hair. Only tone the areas that were bleached. My trick with purple shampoo is to apply directly to the brassy areas on my head before entering the shower and let it sit for few minutes, then in the shower I lather my shampoo & rinse it out. That way the brassy areas are taking in most of the color and the ends are just getting a rinse with it💜 Otherwise my ends would be extremely ashy compared to my roots. This for me is the perfect balance.

Wella color touch 10/6 wil give similar results Loreal dialight 10.21 Igora vibrance 9-5-1 Affinage satin 10.2 Schwarzkopf blondene equal parts ice and steel blue Redken shades eq equal parts 10gi 10vv 9p These should all create a similar ice white with a violet tinge hope this helps. Also every one I mention is a demi/semi so far more gentle and use its correlating developer according to manufacturer instructions 😉

Gabrianna Paisley I try my best to not get it on my scalp. So not so much, but I’ve heard it does for some people. It has before though when I didn’t know what I was doing. Lol Using a lower volume developer can help.

How many times did you originally bleach your hair to get such a light blonde? Also what color blonde is your natural color?
@jordanmurdock
3 жыл бұрын
It only took my 1 time of bleach. I’ve always had very light blonde hair that was natural. As I get older it gets a little darker so I have to keep up by bleaching. I would say my natural color is and 7-8. My hair now is a level 10.

Yes Olaplex does help, but using other great products and hair masks helps a lot too! The bleach does damage my hair a little but not as bad as it could... that’s why I take very good care of it. New hair care routine will be coming soon.

I used just 1 of them. I was just showing that I do use different brands of bleach sometimes as they usually do the same thing. I also am now using 20 vol developer with the bleach and toner!

I currently have bleach in my hair ATM.... I forgot to get my toner 😕 , would you suggest I wash it out and then use purple shampoo...or wait to use that ?
@jordanmurdock
4 жыл бұрын
Erin Joy Oh no, I’m not sure! I always use toner after. I think you can still use a purple shampoo after to help with the yellow brass color. I have used purple shampoo after bleaching and it doesn’t hurt, but it is extra dry after. But I’m also not a professional? I hope it works out for you!

What colour are you naturally? Just wanting to know how you got all of your hair that beautiful white! I have bleach blonde hair but I have regrowth (brunette) and my hair is a yellow colour so shall I bleach again and then wella tone?
@jordanmurdock
4 жыл бұрын
Cameron Robson I am naturally a dirty blonde color. I have always had blonde hair and as I age it gets darker so I just roll with it and bleach & tone it to keep up with it. I’m not sure since I’m not a professional or anything. I would consult a hairdresser. What I have learned is if my hair is dark yellow or orange it may need another bleach since it didn’t pull enough of the dark pigment out. If it’s a lighter yellow I usually just tone and it turns out perfect! Hope that helps❤️

Thanks! Yes the toner did stick more in one area. But it is mostly the lighting in this video making it more dramatic. It didn’t look like that in person.
