Hi this is amazing, could you send me sizes of wood needed for this please? My husband has told me he would make me one .

The top board is sanded 2 ft by 4 ft by 3/4" plywood. Then I used 2" x 4" boards for the legs I cut them to 39" tall. then I used 1 x 4 for securing the legs and making the holders of the shelves. the shelves on the sides were 2 ft by 2 ft half inch ruff plywood I did cut them a little to fit the space left for shelves. On the Bench top I cut out a open area 5" deep and 18 inches long to have work space and set the bench pin. the shelf under that is 3/4 2 ft by 2 ft plywood. Thank you for watching.

I finally finished my bench based on your design. I tweaked it a bit so it better fit my needs but I totally wouldn't have figured it out without this video. Thanks so much! In fact I just referred someone on instagram to this video because she liked my bench!

Thank you kindly, I have used it and enjoyed it now over a year. Need to find a tree stump for my metal shaping and to put an anvil on. Keep on Rocking.

I know this is super old video but I'm hoping maybe I can still receive an answer here. Did you end up finding the 3/4" thick desktop still being too thin, where as it ends up being extremely loud when taking a beating, hammering, stamping, forging of any sort etc. Even with metal and rubber blocks etc. I keep seeing that a 1-2" thick bench is ideal and a super hard, better quality wood makes a huge difference but it's damn near impossible for me to find in our islands hardware stores or I'd have to make a butchers block myself to do it. And while i know it's not that hard, I just need a new bench fairly quickly and not to spend extra extra time and woodworking tools etc to make it. (Shipping is also ridiculous to get here so DIY seems my only route now that my older P.O.S. bench/table is a goner. Lol) thank you. Also any specific wood reccomendations, especially for a partially outdoor/potentially wet and definantly humid situation? And as far as cutting the U Shape for the bench pegs etc. With whatever wood you'd reccomended what would be the least expensive/space consuming tool choice to use to get it done still efficiently and evenly? Thank you in advance!!

I would not add more wood to the top. I have the 3/4 inch I think for my top. I do most of my textures on the cement floor, or at the gem and mineral shop we have a log like tree log that we set an anvil on to do stamping and some textures. I only use the wood peg for cutting not the steel block on the peg holder. Find a nice stomp about 12 inches in diameter. That will help your jewelry making

Did you use hardwood, or just pine or birch 2 × 4's?

Thank you for watching. It is easy to build. I started with a 3/4 inch finished plywood piece that is 4 foot x 2 foot. I will have to watch the video again to see what I said about making it and the sizes. Keep on Rocking.
