You need to use knots approved for life safety. Fig8 for back up stopper and fig8 on a bite for loops , certified in high angle rope rescue)

Don't use the knots in this video. Use a figure 8 for the loops and a double overhand for the stopper.

Use a figure 8 for your stop knot on the end of the rope, much safer my friend. I trust my gear, but as a professional tree climber for 19 years, I make all my buddies tethers and linesman’s belts, out of respect for them and for the safety and most importantly for the safe return of any hunter and friend who wears what I make. Cool video brother, but figure 8 the end of your rope, or learn to splice lol, my big fear

What's the purpose of the wire attachment to the Ropeman ascender? Should it be removed?

You happy with the 11' and 9' for the tether and lineman's, respectively? Would you go longer if given the chance again?? Great video, thanks!

It works perfect for me. I wouldnt change it. I personally like smaller diameter trees because they are easier to rotate around when using just a platform like how I hunt.

Did you go up in a tree yet? I'll get my climbing steps tomorrow then ill go up for the 1st time. Definitely seems a little nerve racking just being tied to a tree with ropes and no back up safety.

Davey Newman no worries man. I think I'm more of a tree stand guy. Tried the saddle hunting out. I couldn't get comfortable in it while up the tree for the life of me.

You should explain yourself better on each one. You say your making a linesmans belt and a tether, but when you’re doing it, tell us which one is which line and what you’re doing to each end of that specific rope! Then you show both at the end and say there you go! There I go what? Which is which and what end of each rope is for what? How are they connected and where??? How about, this is the tether and how you connect it and this is the linesman belt and how you connect it. All the fancy words you mention in the beginning, if a person isn’t familiar with them, they have no clue what you’re talking about!
