Instead of the spray adhesive make a mesh sandwich with the respective holes for the plants. Works even better if the front mesh is plastic and the moss is alive. It will cover it soon and look more natural. Cheers..!

You can stick moss in an envelope for 50 years in an herbarium, pull a piece out, add water, and put it under a microscope and watch it come alive. They are way easier to not kill than any house plant. My guess is people who do this preserved dead crap do it because it requires no work and it probably sheds less@@kifahnemer2729

Does spraying so closely to the living plants (excess residue) cling to the living plants, possibly harming them? Maybe wrap those loosely with some tinfoil prior to spraying.

Hello, do you just spray water on them to keep them alive? How long will it last?
@fredericcolombier5380
2 жыл бұрын
Orchids and Tillandsia are epiphytic topical plants, that is to say that they recover the humidity contained in the air from the atmosphere through their aerial roots, so decades isn't a problem as long as the roots never bathe in a total humidity , that is to say that it is necessary to add pine bark around the roots at best because it degrades slowly and it's porous so it pumps and keeps the humidity without excess; never in direct sun with a lot of light at best & One spray per week on the roots only . The moss, two things, the first is that it is a living organism of damp and cool soil that does not like direct sun and can overbear little light; like the ivies in general also; the second is immortal, that is to say that a yellowed foam is always recoverable, in a closed tuperware with 2 mm of water ah bottom and a flood in order beforehand, in a few days, it recovers turn green and even begin to grow again; just like Lichens, from dry it comes back to life with humidity =) So at least two spray weeks in summer and winter only one. P.S : it's up to me

No real way to water the orchid or even soak the tillandsia. Plus you have a green and a silver tillandsia which require different care. Spraying glue over the delicate tillandsia might not be the greatest idea either... Prove me wrong but this is set up to fail... although it looks nice.

I have an important question. Won’t the preserved moss mold since we need to spray water on it for other alive plants in the frame? I’m afraid that it will mold from me watering the other plants and that’s terrible.

Question: it’s usually not advised to get preserved sheet moss wet. Won’t the dyes cause problems for the live plants? Also, how long have you had these living frames in action? Any updates?
@capuchinosofia4771
Жыл бұрын
depends if the dyes are water or oil based. if oil, a little bit of water wont do anything. if water on the other hand... will probably take a while but after a year or half a year I´d expect some fading.
