I have seen a couple of your latest videos and they were soo good that I had to go back to the beginning and start from the beginning. I just got my first 2015 JKU Sport and watching videos like yours and so many others have inspired me to build my jeep for overlanding and hit the road. Your videos are so great! The civilian version of the Bantam trailers had a tailgate. The military trailers had a solid rear panel making the trailer water tight and able to float with 500 pounds. Military also had a lunette ring instead of a “ball” hitch.

Thanks for the info! Ours is definitely at civilian. It’s a TC3. Love having the tailgate for Overlanding.

We purchased the rack from Amazon (amzn.to/3Aeul45). However, to mount it you need to have a flat surface so we installed Angle Iron on each side.

good evening how are you? I just found out about your KZitem channel, I would like to ask you about the comment you make when explaining the preparation of the trailer, about connecting a refrigerator. Is it possible to take a refrigerator outdoors? What type of refrigerator do you use? Do you have any other videos where we can see the trailer equipped with the refrigerator? I am planning to make something similar to what you have and the topic of the refrigerator interests me a lot. Thank you and sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you. A greeting from Spain.
@Venture2Roam

Great to hear from Spain!! We love Spain, what a beautiful country. Yes, there are refrigerators made to be outside. Some common brands are Iceco: (geni.us/icecoAPL55) that link will save you 12% on anything there. Also Dometic, Bluetti, and SetPower are common brands for these types of refrigerators.

@@Venture2Roam Thank you, I have an ARB classic, the blue and gray 47 liter model, I don't know if that would be good for going outside. I think so, but I wouldn't know and around here it is not usually used in trailers.

I know it’s not a brand name rack...but it’s the perfect height for tents and awning, is aluminum, and rated for 800lbs. Hard to beat! Good luck with your build!

Great question. The answer is yes. We sold this trailer, and the new owners have a Smittybilt Overlander RTT on the rack (which is rated to 800lbs). You can see pics of on Instagram on the page @exploringwithfibro

Is it a factory axle with new hubs or a new axle to have JK wheels?
@Venture2Roam
3 жыл бұрын
Hi Andy - This project was a factory axle with custom wheel adapters for the 5 bolt pattern. However in our CURRENT DIY Bantam project we used a new custom axle with the 5 bolt pattern. The video of the new project where we use the custom axel is here: kzitem.info/news/bejne/06V6vJiomH-SoYo I'd recommend the new axle - it was about the same price.

Are you comfortable with the height of your trailer when the RTT is on top. I have the same trailer with a IKAMPER 2.0 bolted and welded in we used three bars total. On the way home the bouncing made me nervous. The welds are strong everything was tight. Just curious how it is when you have your tent on top

How did you mount the base of the rack to the tub?

@@Venture2Roam ok. We have purchased the rack in the link and ours does not have anywhere for the clamps to go.

Chris used, and we will use again, steel angle iron bolted to the brackets on the inside of the tub. That gives a flat surface to mount the rack. DM in IG if you want to chat more.

Just wanted to follow up as we JUST finished this part of our build. 6ft Angle Irons mounted to the insides of the tub. We drilled through Angle Iron and the existing tub bracket - then bolted them into place. This provides sturdy flat surface area for the rack to clamp on. Hope your project is moving along nicely!
