Benjamin, I use 1.5 inch PVC Schedule 40, with corresponding elbows, t's, ball valves, and couplings. Also 1.5 inch uniseals. It's up to you, what you use and how to arrange them for your own purposes and setup.

I just came across your build. What's the purpose of leaving the top of the tote intact in the back, just to have a platform to hang the light on?

I use it as a shelf, added stability. It’s just a personal preference. I like the way it looks better.

@@TheLivingWatersFarm It does look cool. I suppose if you're not using the cut off top section as a grow bed for plants, you don't need to save it, and can do the shelf like yours.

as someone who knows nothing about aquaponics, why so many tanks ? i watched 8vids before yours and none have all those different tanks. just the fish at the bottom, a small pump that runs to the plants and that runs back to the fish.

Great question! We raise our fish (tilapia) for food. We raise Koi, betta, and goldfish for pets. We have many tanks so we can expand and grow. I use the old water (fish poop water) to hand water our gardens and grow room.

"K1 media"?
@TheLivingWatersFarm
20 күн бұрын
K1 media is a biological filtration media used in water treatment and aquatic ecosystems. It's a wheel-shaped structure with four compartments and outer fins that's small enough to fit in various filtration systems. K1 media is designed to move freely within a filter, exposing a large surface area to oxygen and nutrients for bacteria to grow. The constant movement of the water also helps remove harmful ammonia and nitrite from the water. K1 media is self-cleaning and requires little to no maintenance.
