Have always had ponds but have never had a skimmer. Now we have moved and our new pond is under huge maple trees. I love your skimmer and it helped me to understand how they work. I could make a larger one like this with a larger bin. Thank you for the video!

The drum filter is the most effective, given that it does not need to be cleaned. It has automatic smart cleaning, and good filters have emergency systems and a system that can work without electricity for several hours; when electricity is supplied, the filter turns on and continues its work without any problems.

Hi....Would you please tell me how you cut the front--like did you cut the entire front lip off? and what the purpose of the pond liner is in there? I'm going to try it, but I don't quite get it...did you make a "wall" in the middle with that pvc attached by zip ties? if so, what did you use for the wall--the fan grid piece? Thanks!

It is a laguna 300 gph pump. I am sure you can use any small pond that will except a hose on the intake and output end if you desire a hose that will connect to a decoration spitter returning your water and oxygenating the water at the same time. I had a mushroom cone on the end of my return but is lost at the bottom somewhere.. Thank you for watching and I hope this helped you out. Best of luck..

Ok, calm down Rapture14. I do say roughly 1000 gallons in my video.. It turns out to be 838 gallons of water in my pond if you calculate it correctly. But my pond is not filled up all the way to stop critters from reaching in for a free fish meal.. I have 2'6" deep 14 foot long and 4 feet wide..Do the math and tell me how many gallons that would be when filled? Thank you for watching and good luck with your fish pond..

koi like surface area! depth is important if your gonna have big climate change throughout the seasons where you live! but the bigger the surface area of your pond! the bigger they grow!. guys in some parts of the states have koi ponds only 18" deep because its warm all year round and the temp doesn't change much! the skimmers good but you wanna keep your eye on water levels with that! check out my vid!!
