These are PVC pipes which are normally used for water distribution in homes. PVC pipes are light but durable and strong.

As I used MDF sheet, it's kind of raw from the sides, so I pasted matching side strips to give it a good finish.

Hi there, Nice project. For the top, I think you used MDF which is ideal. But my space restricts me to have a 3.5"x2" top. So I have to go for a plywood top. Would the structure hold good for plywood?

What size pipe did you use, and where did you find the clamps to attach the top to the frame?

This pipe is of 1 inch in diameter. For clamps, I did search online, but couldn't find the exact clamp that I used. But, finally found the exact and required size clamps in a sanitary fittings store in my neighborhood.

Very nice idea. :) Does it wobble when you type on keyboard or do anything, because I am planning to make one. I have a plastic table, one where we have to assemble the complete table, and it wobbles a lot, even my monitor wobbles when I type.

As it is a computer + study table for kids, my kids have placed their books + 22" LCD monitor + two speaker bars. I can just give an idea, but this table is doing a fine job as compared to normal costly tables. Thanks for watching and commenting though.

That might help, but the basic idea was to keep the cost down as PVC is way much cheaper VS steel pipe. Another problem is to cut the steel pipe according to required lengths. I do not have those cutting tools at home. But, you can try and share your project. Thanks for watching though.

Well, that is something different. You can buy the MDF sheet from any store that sells wood or sheets. For PVC pipes, you can go to a sanitary store. Its a DIY project, therefore, you have to do it.

Side strip was used to cover plain sides of MDF, and to give MDF matching looks. Adhesive was used to make a strong bonding between side strip and MDF. Thanks for watching my effort.
