If one has ever swam in the ocean one’s skin becomes silky smooth from the salt water exfoliating results. Same with salt bars but more luxurious.

Made these yesterday. I didn't have coconut milk powder so I used goat's milk, aloe vera juice and water for my lye solution. I used Australian Bamboo grass from Nature's Garden. I absolutely love these!!! Mine are more white which really shows the pink salt. Thank you so much for sharing. I love watching you 🥰 I've had those molds for awhile and never used them. 👍

Thank you for this video. I just made some coconut milk, aloe soap this evening. I thought about adding salt, but a male friend thought it was not a good idea because I have dry skin. LOL. I should have watched the video first. I am new to soaping again after a two year COVID absence. There is so much I must learn and books don't quite cut it.

Hi, Ellen Ruth! How much cane sugar did you add to the lye solution and what exactly is cane sugar? You’re the best teacher ever, and a joy to listen to! Maybe I enjoy your company so much ‘cause I’m a child of God, as well! Thx ever so much.
@EllenRuthSoap

You can add up to 1 tsp per lb of oils for the sugar, I do a bit less, more like 1/2 tsp per lb... Any sugar will work, I just prefer the unbleached natural sugar which is called "cane sugar".

Hello from Oklahoma Ellen!! I’m a newbie soaper (this was my 10th batch🤓) I have learned so much from watching your channel!! Thank you for going through your soaping process step by step,,,and give reasons why or why not you’re choosing to do something. And I feel super fancy🧐🎩👌🏻putting tussah silk in the lye water with my previous 3-4 soap batches! I Can’t WAIT till those batches cure to see how that is compared to my earlier recipes wo the silk…ANYWHO!…Yesterday afternoon I attempted your pink salt recipe. All I had was the course pink salt, so I put it in my vitamix(some of it might’ve gotten blended too fine, more like powder🥴)I waited till this morning to unmold, and they were still SUPER DUPER soft, however, by this afternoon I was able to gently remove them from the molds,,,that being said, it’s been raining a lot here lately and my soap studio has been around 60% humidity. They turned out so pretty, and I was feeling like I had really made an accomplishment!🥳👏🏻🏆🎖️ I did leave out the aloe from your recipe, and just did distilled water only, because I’m allergic🙄, and I added 2 tbsp madder root powder to give it a nice natural pink color to bring home the “PINK Himalayan Salt Bar” look, and used the cactus flower fragrance oil from Brambleberry. 🙏🏻THANK YOU Ellen for sharing your recipes and knowledge, I really appreciate it! Many blessings and good health to you and your family!♥️✝️♥️

I love salt bars. I will try this. Im curious though, is the 10% castor because of the butters?
@EllenRuthSoap
5 ай бұрын
It’s to help support the lather, since salt soaps are notorious for low lather..
@julieallison8508
5 ай бұрын
@EllenRuthSoap I make mine without castor, and they foam and lather better than the ocean. I've never had an issue with salt bars lathering, even at 100 percent salt. I was just curious, with the addition of butters, if that was why. I will try this, but only a 250g batch. Castor has sky rocketed unfortunately.

I have a curiosity🤔. Salt = sodium, right? And adding Sodium Lactate to a salt soap makes the soap too hard to cut. Maybe lowering the additive or not adding it at all can make the soap, soft enough to cut with the wire?🤷♀️ Is that a possibility?
@EllenRuthSoap
2 жыл бұрын
I did not add sodium lactate to this recipe, the salt is a great hardener on it's own. You can cut these while they are still warm if you want to do a loaf, but don't wait too long or it will be crumbly.
